A fellow shooter managed to try some BH-produced-for-a-mil-team, 80 grain ammo and clocked it at about 2950 FPS. He pulled some and said that the powder granules are disc shaped.  I don't think anyone in the civilian shooting community can duplicate the load with what we have access to. True?  Anyone manage to duplicate this load?  I searched the forums but found that even as a bronze member my searches only go back 3 mos. Thanks.

Its like the 77 grain stuff made by atlanta arms. Even with that long bullet deep seated they will get 2950 out of my gun, the military Mk262 was getting 2850 or so. Its a special powder made in Florida , St. Marks or something. General dynamics owns it. The Aliant power pro rifle powder thats coming out should allow us to get pretty damn close to this load. and with the 80's being seated so far out, you can safely put a little more in them. 75 hornady's can be made to run fast pretty safe, 77's are a little difficult. With 80's I run 25.5 of N150, and get 2820 with no issues at all. I have gone as high as 26 with no issues but no speeds on it. Cycles the action and is pretty damn smooth.
