Course of fire has changed over the years - see www.nrahq.org/compete/nat-trophy/tro-105.pdf . The present course of fire is 20 shots @ 1000 yards, with the high shooter from each relay going to a 10 shot shootoff.
Equipment is per NRA Highpower rules for an "Any Rifle" (Rule 3.2 at www.nrahq.org/compete/RuleBooks/HPR/hpr-w03.pdf ) Note there is a maximum caliber limit of .35", which is generally self-enforcing. Why? Rule 3.16.1 prohibits the use of compensators or muzzle brakes. The practical upper limit for rifle calibers is thus somewhere around a .300 Winchester Magnum. 6.5-284s have won most (if not all) Wimbeldon Cup matches for the last decade. However, it isn't the cartridge that makes the difference. The 6.5-284 is a fine round - but reduced wind drift is no substitute for knowing how to read the wind. |

It's the "LR" target. (The 600yd target is the "MR") The outer rings are a bit different, but it still follows the 1MOA X ring, 2MOA 10 ring, 3MOA 9ring pattern.
