I'm curious what the good choices are for service grade AR15 triggers these days.

The Gieselle is top notch I have my set around 5 1/2 6lbs and it feels a lot less than that. When I had it weighed for a leg match, the guy weighing didn't think it would pass

If you can afford the Gieslie (sp?) great! Forget about the Milazzo. Folks have been trying to get one for several years with no luck. I bought one back in "94. It's good and a tad better than a RRA but Charlie won't sell to just anyone. I'll make no further comment on his business practices.
The RRA is great right out of the box! Some look at it's price and think it can't be good because it didn't cost a small fortune but there are hundreds of them on the firing lines all across the country. In fact, I have two of them, stock! If they ever wear out, they will be replaced without hassle! RRA is a good company to do business with! I have won a lot of awards and matches with them. What else can I say but RRA is # 1 for the money!

I've got the Geissele and the WO-tuned RR. The Geissele is really nice, but I don't see how it's "more than twice the cost" nicer.

Don't get me wrong,, but sounds like you don't have it set up to the best of it's ability.
If you are new to HP, you may not be concentrating on you squeeze.

I've had very good results with an older Armalites. Have three of them and all of them are very nice. In fact I just swapped out an older K-M on my number one gun because the Armalite was better.

You probably got the old Armalite with the magic "screw"! The main ingredient that makes the Armalite comparable to the Milazzo. That is why Armalite got sued by Milazzo. Patent infringement.
I once had one of the Armalite's with the screw. Several years ago I let it go in a complete rifle I that I sold. I am still kicking myself I should have swapped it with a Jewell that I have laying around in my parts box. Ha, can't even sell a Jewell these days for half of what I payed for it! The slowest lock time of any AR trigger on the market!
The Giesele (sp?) has the best lock time of the AR triggers but between it and a stock RRA, the real difference is between the shooters ears!

Yes they do have a set screw. I do feel bad about what happened to Charlie, but I got them before I new anything about the lawsuit. They are very nice. Wouldn't trade them for anything though.

I mentioned earlier the order of purchase items.
I stand by that and I did not consider price in making the list.
Wrangler I totally agree with you on RRA.
I have several both straight from RRA and from hollinger.  I have been impressed with Holinger and his work.
I have the newer Armalite (not impressed at all)
I have the old BM (Frank White design) - Holds up but it can failed at the worst possible time.  I loved mine until a Regional match.  --- worst possible time ---
Jewel was nice but the same issue - it failed and they don't really care - go buy another
Hope this helps

Randy;
Yes I totally agree with you that the new Armalite's suck big time! When I was on the B.O.D. of our state assn. we purchased six of their rifles for our junior teams. The triggers were terrible. Full of creep. Armalite didn't even care to correct the problem! I took two of them into RRA one evening while at Camp Perry. They either stoned them or replaced them with their's at "no charge"!  So the following year, when more money from the State Assn. became available. We purchased six more rifles. From RRA! Not only were the triggers great, the sights and fit of all parts were of outstanding quality!

Hey, I tell it like it is. I have been around for quite awhile. Some here don't like what I report on products/services but I pull no punches. I am no one's bitch. Screw my shooters once and don't make it right. well ....

Another vote here for Geissele triggers.

I've used Bushmaster & Holliger's RRA triggers before the Geissele.  The Bushmaster was great until it lost the second stage, about two years of use.  The RRA was also a very nice trigger.  I put the Geissele in last summer & it's fantastic.  Very smooth, the pull feels much lighter than it really is and a very clean break.

No ,she's set up fine. I admit the Geissele is a great trigger (it's the one I use at every match). I just don't think it's worth twice what the RR trigger costs.

Please don't make too much fun, because I have been out of DCM shooting for several years, but what about the CLE trigger?  It seems that it used to be fairly popular a while back, but has everything else surpassed it?

I think CLE used the frank white design
it was bushmaster but much improved
the tip doesn't waer like the BM
it was tipped
it still has the screws that even with locktight can because an issue

Randy;

CLE is Frank White. Bushmaster borrowed his design. BM's are even worse!
Back in the mid 90's I got one from Frank. Sent down a new BM lower. Got it back, dried fired it, lubed it and lost the first stage in off hand of the first match. I junked it when I got home. Sent it to a land fill to keep someone from getting hurt.

As I remember, CLE/Frank had the first two stage trigger for an AR. I think it was that trigger that got him started in the AR business. Soon afterward, Milazzo had his out then Armalite then RRA  then Jewell and so on! Some of Frank's held up good but all have or will go bad eventually. A junior shooter on our Rumbold team at Perry about 8 years ago had the glued in hammer insert break off but most others I know of lost the first stage. Dangerous situation when you think of it.

I was trying to remember.  I had mine done by Frank White and as stated earlier, I lost mine at a Regional.
I stick with RRA now.
I don't look back and love the RRA.  Lock time is good enough for me to shoot mid 90s standing regularly.

I have the RRA and the Jewell on my lowers.  I prefer the former.  It seems crisper, the Jewell seems more like a pull through.
In any case, I think triggers are somewhat overrated; dry fire a lot and continue to practice and you will learn to shoot well what you have.
BTW, one of the greatest triggers I ever had was the Bushie stock single stage I had years ago.  Rumors had it Frank White was making some of these for Bushm.   hhmmm.  If that was the case, CLE stuff may really be worth looking at.
Practice a lot, live and dry.  especially dry.   FWIW, my 0.02.
