Who's snowed in? Where are you? How much?
I'm in South Buffalo, I have roughly 6 feet drifted outside with no end in sight. Bunkering down for a long one.
|
|
I'm in Lancaster....4-5 feet of snow, 7 foot drifts, minimum 6 ft ridge plowed at end of driveway.
I seriously have no idea how we are going to dig out. Don't even know if I can toss the snow high enough to get it anywhere, and I think the snowblower will be useless...we are screwed, figure if I can get out by Friday I'll be lucky...I really think they will need front end loaders to clean out the bottoms of peoples driveways... And its still snowing like crazy, and like you say no end in sight...the first time I have ever really been concerned during a snow storm, and I have lived here basically since '87.... |

So much for global warming.. Al Gore needs to stop jet setting to off set his carbon foot print. I suggest we make him dig you out. |

That would work for me....HEY AL, I GOT 6 FEET OF GLOBAL WARMING IN MY DRIVEWAY.... |

I honestly have no idea how the hell I am going to get out of my drive way. It's up to my belly button. Snow blower is down, but it wouldn't be useful in this anyways.
Heavy equipment and snow mobiles are the only thing I've seen on my street. There is no signs up a let up until Friday they are saying. This is a serious one. I've never seen anything like it. Not making it to work tomorrow, maybe even thurs. |

Bunkering down for a long one. ![]() It's absurd. 4-5 feet of snow with drifts. I've been out twice trying to make some headway. My driveway will be ok... but my street hasn't been touched. South Buffalo has got the short end of the stick since poor Eddie Griffin died. Good old Eddy would have fixed this! |

( I had some ridiculous fantasy about cleaning my truck and going to work.) Mother Nature filled it in today . I just cut another one an hour ago. My truck is a 20 ft snowdrift. Streets commish just said this no longer a plowing event, this is a hauling event. ' Eddie Griffin' you blaspheem, sir! Edit---Fire coming in on Crystal off of Hopkins. South Buffalo, be careful tonight. Edit 2 Clowns with a burn barrel! no fire. |

Pictures. I need pictures! (Stay safe and warm y'all.) I have pictures....... But I'm still at work in the middle of it. Let's just say, storms like this brings out all of the nanny staters. Really? How you guys getting around? Its horrible here! I am in the village near Frosty's...I've got 5 feet of snow in the driveway, 6 feet in the yard...and a 6 foot drift in front of the driveway from the plows. Is anyone even out on the roads other than you guys and the highway guys? I figure if I get to work Friday, I'll be lucky.... And we are supposed to get more! |

Cheektowaga - French & Borden Area 5' in the middle of a backyard as wide open as a football field. Drifts are redic. 10' against the house. Can't see out of a single first story window. Snow at the bottom is too thick for the snow blower to get it over the banks, It's going to be a dig out by hand scenario. I defrosted some upstairs windows with a hairdryer, enough that I can see around outside, street hasn't seen a plow all day. For those that are new to this category of storm, Be careful with things that vent outdoors folks. make sure your vents for your furnace, hot water heater, clothes dryer are open before you se them. You don't want carbon monoxide backing up into the house.

No, Jimmy Griffin would have just told you to get a 6 pack and ride it out - remember that one?
I'm in OP - and it has't slowed down since 10PM Monday night - no idea how I'm going to clear the driveway. And to add to it, they are now calling for 90+ inches total by Friday..... |

Barely any snow on the ground here yet
Amazing weather front picture |
we've really nothing to complain about; the snow-belt here primarily runs from North Syracuse to Watertown and the ban has moved back and forth....Post was "closed" Tuesday and on a two hour delay today ironically we're getting hammered this morning, when yesterday it wasn't really doing anything outside of high winds.

Amherst/Williamsville area. I still see grass in my yard. My daughter had off of school too, I think the school district was afraid of the storm moving north. The storm is still 7-8 miles south of me. Good luck everybody that is in it. I used to live on the edge like that in Jefferson county. We'd get a huge storm event to hit Watertown through Syracuse off the lake. Many times it would slide by just miles south of me. My old boss would snowblow 3.5 feet while I could use a broom and clear the steps. Be safe out there! hmm, I should probably use this as a reminder to do a generator test run. |

I have to add, with a bit of chuckle, not only do you guys live in NYS, but you live south of Buffalo! Could you find a worse place? Well, I suppose there is NYC. I live in a town outside of the shit city and might I add it's a pretty damn nice town pal. I believe this is one of those situations where you should prolly not chime in if you wanna be a dick. |
