I have a stripped lower that was never built up from a couple years ago..
How could I go and get an amendment to add this to my pistol permit.. I dont have the reciept from when i bought it.. This would obviously be built as an "UNSAFE" act compliant firearm.. does anyone know? |
|
final weight has to be under 50 oz..
if i go with a short enough barrel and lightened BCG i should make it I think.. ill cut and mill away any necessary metal from everything but the lower to meet it if i have to... I was just wondering if anyone had done it before post unsafe act |

If the mag is fixed then the weight limit does not apply. Someone showed his on this forum, it had a fixed mag and was registered on his permit. Seriously??? I am going to have to research and call about that tommorrow.. What about the bullshit barrel shroud law, does that apply with a fixed mag... |

This is the problem with these stupid fucking laws.. they dont accomplish anything other than trying to make life difficult... If things go well tomorrow with a call to the O.C.S.O. I will be building this pistol with a fixed mag (Yech) and sig brace.. You got a purty mouf? Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Could you make weight with a polymer lower? ETA or a Magnesium Lower MagTech Magnesium lower came in at 6.18 ounces stripped. Anderson Aluminum stripped lower came in at 8.63 ounces stripped. I know every ounce helps, but I don't think the 2.5 ounces will help here enough so he could build a semi auto pistol.. |

Could you make weight with a polymer lower? ETA or a Magnesium Lower Weight really does not matter anymore. The fact that the magazine is outside the pistol grip is a banned feature I believe. The only way to make an ar pistol now is to have a fixed mag. |

Short barreled .223's are hell on the ear drums. I have built a couple .300BLK pistols and they're pretty sweet. County by County rules, so who knows what they'll say IF they even understand what you're doing....at worst they'll make you take it to a Dealer so it can be put through the State Book (P-12) |

I put hands on one of those yesterday, actually. It is DAMN light, kind of a unique recoil/bolt design... sort of the best and worst of an AK and AR rolled into one. Owner says zero recoil thanks to a very nice muzzle brake.
FP is right, SBR/pistol 5.56 is BRUTAL on the ears, but the fireball is awesome. |

Looking to assemble one myself. Gonna build it first in 5.56 to get some range time in on it. Then I would like to build an upper in .300BLK and use it to put bambi in the freezer. From what I have seen the noveske kx3 flaming pig or the kak slimline flash can both do a good job of throwing the blast away from the shooter. Not sure what the difference is between the two, havent had time to do the research. They both look very similar, other than the price. Kak is in the forty dollar range, noveske, tack on another hundred. They both throw a nice fireball at night.
http://youtu.be/xrdojpFUp4c Before I get to far into it gotta get over to the pistol permit office and get some questions answered. When I first asked I think they assumed I was using an 80% lower because they told me I would need to take it and have some sort of serial number put on it. They also called someone with the state police and the answer was as long as I was building it for myself it was good to go. Hopefully after I build it and take it to the range, my reviews wont be from a jail cell! |
