I wonder if Skelos knows or even cares he got used like a cheap whore. I'm hopeful, but even I think we're fucked with we don't own one branch after November.
We'll see micro stamping if this state is 100% dem. "I applaud the IDC's decision," Cuomo said in a statement released with Klein's. "There is no doubt that we have accomplished much for the state over the past four years. There is also no doubt there are progressive goals that we have yet to achieve and that we must accomplish next January." Really? There's more left?

Astorino seriously needs to win. Otherwise, we are beyond fucked. I urge everyone to encourage their friends and relatives, no matter how non-political, to vote for Astorino. This guy is our only hope and a barrier between us and madness of the progressives.
Is it wrong for me to hope for an earthquake that would wipe out NYC? I guess it is, but sometimes I can't help it. |

Is it wrong for me to hope for an earthquake that would wipe out NYC? Yes, very wrong. An earthquake of a large enough magnitude to wipe out NYC would also affect many good upstate areas. You need to wish for something more localized, like a Killer Tsunami. Acutally, a Tsunami would pretty much be perfect, since it would also wash Skellos and Fivehead out to sea and kill all the Jersey Shore Douchebags. Start Praying. |

Nutron bomb?
Seriously, these tards downstate are killing us. They can't even form coherent sentences when "debating" on the floor of the assembly. People at work ask me why I say I'm leaving the state as soon as I am eligible for retirement. Some of the idiots are outdoorsmen and voted for Cuomo and Obama because like the media said they were the smarter choice. |

Skelos proved himself a fool at how he allowed himself to be used by the Governor. He passed SAFE with nary a peep and now finds the payback in what I am sure will be a loss of leadership come November. As I and others have stated, the state is already gone so they might as well go full retard. It really does not matter any longer. The more people they drive away, the better those people's lives will be in the long run. |

Supporting the organizing efforts of low-wage workers in fast-food restaurants, car washes, bodegas, and other service businesses as a means of confronting growing inequality. Dramatically expanding the city’s bus rapid transit network, a cost-effective way to create a new element of our mass transit system and give hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers better access to jobs and resources. Revitalizing the moribund Commission on Human Rights as a way to set and monitor real goals for diversity in the City’s schools, housing, municipal jobs and agency leadership. Enfranchising legal immigrants with the right to vote in municipal elections. As it was a century ago, New York is an immigrant city; immigrants contribute more when they help govern. THat is NYC but it s a road map for how they want to take things statewide. |

Andrew M. Cuomo - Governor
Joint Statements from Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and Senator Jeffrey D. Klein Printer-friendly version Albany, NY (June 25, 2014) Senator Jeffrey D. Klein said, “The Independent Democratic Conference has served as a strong, stabilizing, sensible force for governing in New York State for four years. Under a first-of-its kind bipartisan, coalition government the IDC ushered in a functioning New York State Senate and delivered unprecedented results for working families, including four consecutive on-time budgets, passing the toughest gun control laws in the nation, marriage equality, an increase to the minimum wage, universal pre-k for thousands of toddlers and the safe, regulated use of medical marijuana. “Yet as we reflect on these past achievements, it is also clear that core Democratic policy initiatives that the IDC championed remain unfinished. As Democrats, the IDC remains committed to the fight for an equal education for all New York students - which the Dream Act would provide, protecting a woman's right to choose, increasing workers' wages, and enacting meaningful campaign finance reform. I agree with Governor Cuomo that these are progressive priorities we must pass. “Therefore all IDC members are united and agree to work together to form a new majority coalition between the Independent Democratic Conference and the Senate Democratic Conference after the November elections in order to deliver the results that working families across this state still need and deserve.” Governor Andrew M. Cuomo said, “I applaud the IDC’s decision. There is no doubt that we have accomplished much for the state over the past four years. We have transformed the state government from dysfunctional to highly functional, a deficit to a surplus, and losing jobs to gaining jobs. There is also no doubt there are progressive goals that we have yet to achieve and that we must accomplish next January.” |

Holy Shit! They are building a communist utopia at our expense. That "Election Reform" they want is a con job too. http://fairelectionsny.org/ What are Fair Elections We all agree that New York’s campaign finance system is broken. While most of New York’s elected officials go to Albany for the right reasons, too often big money interests drown out the voices of everyday New Yorkers. It’s time to change the way politics works in Albany. The Fair Elections for New York campaign is calling on state legislators to pass a comprehensive reform package, including public financing of elections. These reforms will put the process back in the hands of voters, and are proven to increase small donor participation in campaigns. We have an historic opportunity to give New Yorkers the campaign finance system they deserve and want. http://www.brennancenter.org/issues/public-financing Public Financing
The Brennan Center has pioneered a clear, simple proposal — consistent with all Supreme Court rulings — to counter special interest spending: small donor public financing. Under our plan, small donations are matched and multiplied to help re-direct candidates’ attention from moneyed interests to ordinary citizens. A $50 donation in a five-to-one matching system, for example, is worth $300 to the candidate. Harnessing new breakthroughs in small donor fundraising, along with a multiple matching fund system, this innovative reform — used successfully in New York City and elsewhere — would magnify the role of average voters in elections. In New York, the Center is working with Gov. Andrew Cuomo and other reform advocates to push a voluntary public funding system for campaigns and robust disclosure of political donors. Read more on New York public financing. http://ppefny.org/about/active-projects/public-financing-of-elections What is public financing of elections? Instead of candidates raising a lot of large contributions from wealthy donors, a voluntary system of public financing of elections allows candidates to run for office by collecting many small donations and receiving public funds to run their campaign.
Public financing puts political power and the power to make real changes in our communites back into the hands of the people, the voters – not large, corporate campaign donors whose contributions carry weight in the halls of the Capital. We know, if we want effective environmental policies, real tenant protections, health care that works well for all of us, fair utility rates, and more, we have to end the undue influence oil companies, real estate, pharmaceuticals, the insurance industry, and other big lobby groups have because their financial power blocks good laws from being passed and influences passage of bills that hurt the public. Andrew M. Cuomo. Mr. Hughes’s fiancé, Sean Eldridge, an investor and political activist who is spearheading the effort, said the group would work with Mr. Cuomo’s office in the same way that gay rights advocates teamed up with the governor last year to persuade Republican lawmakers to support same-sex marriage. The group has also enlisted two former Cuomo aides to help plot its strategy...
¶ As with same-sex marriage, the bulk of the resistance to public financing has come from the Republican-controlled State Senate, and the new group is planning to get involved in a number of Senate races this fall. ...Mr. Cuomo, a Democrat, encouraged the idea of publicly financed elections in his State of the State address in January, and a group of wealthy campaign donors — including Mr. Hughes and Mr. Eldridge — formed a coalition this year to press for the measure. But with Senate Republicans wary of antagonizing conservative voters in an election year, the issue gained little traction in the legislative session. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/25/nyregion/with-cuomo-new-group-will-push-for-publicly-financed-elections-in-new-york.html?_r=0 Your tax dollars at work.
