How is everyone doing with the snow and wind so far? About 8 inches on the cars around 8am just west of Rochester. The streets are passable but not in good shape.
Stay safe out there |

Between Phelps and Canandaigua, no issues. Roads were fairly evenly snow covered, and the 9 degree temps kept the salt from screwing it up. I enjoyed the drive in, only had to pass a couple cars, but was able to keep 55mph most of the time. I guess we've had 3-4" before I left this morning, still lightly snowing here. Just another ho-hum "snow event". |

About 4" in Oswego County. I snowblowed the driveway and made several quick trips to the transfer station with garbage and recyclables. 9 degrees, time to spend some time inside with a hot drink!
Once this cold is over, Song Mountain should have some nice trails. |

The snow hasn't let up here yet. Looking at around a foot and going by the radar, it will not stop for some time. Looking forward to cleaning out the driveway before heading in to work tonight around 9.
I am making sure to bring some hot cider with me wherever I go. |

My friend lives in Mexico, NY. A few years ago he got HAMMERED by
the lake effect machine - even by their standards. He got 18 FEET of snow in 6 days. 18 God Damned FEET His car was buried. His house was buried. Christ the town was buried. Snow blowers were of no use. It couldnt throw the snow high enough to clear the piles. I went to college in Buffalo for a year and Syracuse for the remainder and although we had tons of snow it was nowhere near the apocalyptic proportions of 18 feet in a few days. I'm on LI now, and my commute this morning at 0500 was ruined by a dusting of snow on the LIE and a fatality (Sure looked like it to me.... tomorrow as a dusting of snow here causes outright panic and panic buying at supermarkets. I'm all set and I'm sure the 6 inches we get will deplete our snow removal budget for the year and cause hysteria as usual. |
| we are at about 12 inches give or take an inch. plowed once this am and going to do it again in a little while, then tomorrow am before work. still coming down pretty good. windy as well so the blowing and drifting on the roads is making it harder. not the end of the world however. managed to go to the grocery store for our weekly run with no problems. |

Was in Saratoga Springs earlier. About 4 inches when I left. It's not so much the snow, as it is the cold and wind. I'm back in Glenville now. Under a blanket and listening to the blues. Seriously considering breaking out the moonshine. You're just down the road from me... Nisky reporting in. |

I am very glad Cuomo wants to close the highways here on LI. I'd hate to drive in this mess we have here... https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-rThXjx2Znf0/UsXM5DjCRVI/AAAAAAAAIGA/fW9OJOOsRys/s800/CH02.2014.01.02.15.34.41.1.jpg ![]() I mean really. Shut them down?

Highspeedforlife, we dont have potholes, just what can be called artillary impacts. I know bro. I'm pretty sure my Wrangler is somewhere between Monroe and Dundee in one of those craters. Michigan PD does need MRAPs just so they don't snap axles in those bitches. |
