Skimming the news I saw a really sad bit.

We lost a nice guy on Saturday, Lt. Col Todd Clark, in A stan near Pakistan.

I'd been out of touch with him for over 15 years but we used to play as kids.  Always a funny guy who kept us in stitches.

RIP Todd, you've done your duty.

I had the distinct pleasure of serving with Todd in 1-71 CAV, 1-10MTN from 2008-2011.  He was our SQDN S-3 when I was a Troop Commander.  He was the definition of a Solider, warrior, patriot, and he was my friend.  He was wounded in 2010 by an IED while serving with 1-71 in RC-South, AFG (Kandahar), and though he could have easily chosen to honorably end his military career there, he chose to fight on and continued to serve.  He was a testament to those who wear the uniform, a textbook Cavalryman, and his memory will live on.  We will not forget his sacrifice.  Please keep his wife and two children in your thoughts.

I will see you again brother, on Fiddler's Green.

GD,
I'm very sorry for you loss.  Thanks for sharing that,  Todd had that burning desire to serve and lead at a young age.  I'm glad to see he excelled as a soldier and a good man.
