"Many people read it for many, many weeks and didn't catch that inconsistency," Cuomo said.

It took arfcom or anyone with a single living brain cell to catch the issues with this law...

Personally I think it is good news.  Let the court cases proceed without having to shoot at a moving target.  Now with Connecticut joining the club, we just have to wait and see how the cases go.  Maybe Connecticut will get smacked down before their new laws even take effect.

So what's the final disposition?

Purchase of 10 round magazines: good to go indefinitely?

Purchase of 11+ round magazines: still no go

Purchase of "assault weaponss: not happening

FTF and ammo sales:  ??  future dates issues?  but FTF on assault weapons is already verbotten.

LE Exemption: complete exemption?  From the AWB too?

Retired LE: screwed with the rest of us?

Pre-94 vs. Post-94: the difference is striken from the law, and all "assault weapons" may now have any number of features?

"I think the Governor would prefer not to revisit it. It accomplishes I think what a lot of people were concerned about. There are not seven clips made," Senate Republican Leader Dean Skelos said.

He will never get it, not until election time that is.

I thought there was an exemption for .22 tube magazines.

It make my head hurt, and it sounds like it could go either way, but tend to trust rkbar15's outlook

Maybe those people shouldn't be passing laws and need to step down.

Better register every gun you own as an AW just to be safe.

I updated the above thread. It appears that jagcap was correct. There is still an issue with pre/post '94 center fire pistol caliber lever action guns with 10 or 10+ tubular magazines and 10+ shot revolvers though.

10 should be OK. 10+ is a problem. You can own the gun but not the mag tube.

Nope, 10 round tube fed lever action rifles can hold more than 10 rounds depending on which shells you load them with.

Rimfire .22 tube feed are still exempt it would appear as the section of text continues. It is unclear how tube feed pistol calibers are effected still...
