So what if Counties upstate just said FU to Cuomo and stopped funding state programs such as Medicaid, welfare etc, and stopped sending state taxes in? An autonomous government can be formed with people that truly represent their constituency. A militia can be formed to protect this new entity and prevent arrests by the State troopers. What would Cuomo do?

We already have a similar situation in NY when Indians buy up state land and refuse to pay taxes and do as they pleasr. Why not us?

Most  of  those  injuns  are  used  to   doing  w/ less . Although  there  are  MANY ( and  by  that  I  mean  over  10,000 ) that  share   these  grievances , to  ask  everyone  north  of  the  Bloombutthead  line  to  make  those  kinds  of  sacrifices
would  be  wishful ( in  the  least ) .

I know that just the Medicaid liability for Rockland County is 110% of what they collect in taxes. This is according to the interview with the County Executive on Channel 12. If Upstate decides to opt out and go on its merry way, those moneys can be put to good use. The residents won't lose anything in terms of services. And the Medicaid crowd can move to Bloombergistan to keep their free shit.

Schoharie County has balls. They are the first county to pass a "shall not fund" the SAFE Act resolution. Copies of that resolution are being sent to all other counties in the state. It's not Medicaid....but it's a start.

Really?  So what if every opposed county refuses to fund unSAFE?  That would be interesting...

Schoharie sloughters have always been a bunch of trouble making outlaws etc...

Schoharie now soon found out that there was a
new hand at the bellows. They were soon called
upon to take leases and to pay rent, or to pur-
chase. They refused all. The seven partners
seeing they could gain nothing, thought about
trying the law; sent their sheriff, by the name of
Adams, to apprehend the most principal men and
ringleaders of the whole, to bring them to terms
of justice. But when the sheriff began to med-
dle with the first man, a mob of women rose, of
which Magdalene Zee was captain. He was
knocked down and dragged through every mud-
pool in the street; then hung on a rail and carried
four miles, thrown down on a bridge, where the
captain took a stake out of the fence and struck
him in the side, that she broke two of his ribs and
lost one eye; then she pissed in his face, let
him lie and went off.

The ultimate "bitch slap". This is totally .

Damn, can't stop

People in this state used to have balls, even the women. Bet that guy saw that image right before he shuffled his mortal coil off this planet.

"Magdalene Zee" - sounds like a badass female rapper, yo! She'll fuck you up, beeotch!!

I LMAOed when I ran across that while researching something else.   Folk histories like that have real gems once in a great while.
