I have heard about these, never paid much attention to them as I figured couldnt get one anyways.
But then I found out that you can buy them in NY. I was looking into getting one for either my AK or AR-15. Probly AK as ammo is cheaper. Bascally just to have as will be rare occasion when I use it. Really just want it to have it and if I ever shoot at a friends property away from all people I will have my fun. Wont use at the range. Im not stupid. Anybody use them? Supposed to come with a letter from ATF saying its legal. for now that is. Just wondering if anybody sees people with them at ranges as well. Out of curiosity |

I own one. Yes it does come with the ATF letter. I have brought it to the range many times, and I always get different reactions from the RO's. Definitely does exactly as it's advertised to do. Public or private range? I would think a visit to the public range would be short lived since all (NY) have rules against rapid fire (I believe). |

Article 265 - NY Penal Law Oh, in before lock down |

Oh, in before lock down Sshhhhh don't point that out. |

So how exactly do you use it?
Just pull trigger and recoil does the rest or do you have to apply pressure on the foregrip? My range doesnt have anybody watching you, half the time im the only one there. But Id probly be hesistant on using it in public. I just want to try a fully auto AK or AR and this is the closest I will probly ever get. |

I DO NOT suggest anyone attempting to replicate my actions however. The RO's that have allowed me to do so, knew before I just started blasting with it.. |

Oh, in before lock down How could the slide fire be interpreted as a MG underthe law? The basic definiton of a MG is that it can discharge more then one round with a sinlge pull of the tirgger. The slide fire does not do this. I do not see how it could be viewed to simulate a MG either based on the defintion of a MG. No matter how you cut it the slidefire still requires the user to pull te trigger for every round discharged. The sytem just allows one to do it quicker then ever could be done by ones finger alone. |

That's far from true. There are a ton of youtube videos with people that are very experienced with bumpfiring from the shoulder with no mechanical aids. This dude doesn't even have a stock! I left out the "old" style of bumping firing as shown in the vid on purpose but I knew someone would bring it up Old style is just not in the same league as what the bumpfire stocks allow whne it comes to grip etc. |

"simulating a machine-gun" ie Automatic fire. You make a valid point, under the definition, one trigger pull, multiple fired rounds... but... do you want to argue that before a judge with your balls on the chopping block? Here's another problem I see, unless you are putting it on pre-ban, the slide fire and bumpski can be considered "telescoping." Even for there miniscule movement. Let me tell, I am itching to get a Bumpski for my Saiga AK... but I like my freedom and don't want to risk it. |

I had inquired if the Magpul PRS stock could be considered a telescoping stock as its length of pull can be shortened and extended and was told by several people that it is not. Based on this it might be a stretch to say that the bump fire stocks telescope and thus are an evil feature. We all know however that if they want to make a case against you they can give it a try. |

Ok, but now to figure out how to perm attach the Slidefire or Bumpski stock to the adapter rail in such a way as to permit it to slide back and forth to perform the bump fire. Otherwise, won't itks simple removal cause the overall rifle legth to bee under the legal limitation? |
