| Recently, I have been thinking about getting my pistol permit. I live in Westchester County but also have a weekend house in Delaware county. I've heard that it is a lot easier to get a permit in Delaware County then it is in Westchester, but can I do that since its not my permit address? I guess i could change my address to my weekend house, but is that legal? If anyone has any insight or info on the topic, that would be great. |

Go get you westchester pistol permit NOW!!!! just fill out the app and it will be here before know. Or procrastinate for 3-4 months and than fill out the app.
Guys does any know why the app is a pain in tha ass( which its really not), so you dont fill it out and procrastinate. Any thing to discurrage people from getting permits they county will do. |
| It would probably be easier to get a full carry in Delaware country, but is it ok for me to change my address to that county and apply for a permit even though it's not my permanent residence? Also, if I do choose to change my address to the other county, do I need the 5 referrals for the app from that county or can I get them from other counties? |

I'd be interested in knowing this also. I thought I read somewhere its suppose to be issued to your primary residence. Westchester permit is a bit of a hassle IMO but easy to get for most folks. You'll probably get a restricted target/hunting permit though. Quoted: Recently, I have been thinking about getting my pistol permit. | It's supposed to be issued to your domicile. You can change the address but it's iffy if you don't spend 50% or greater of your time there. It will also look strange if your job is in Westchester or the city and you claim that your permanent residence is North of your secondary address (which they will know about). They may also ask for dates of previous addresses and would see when you changed it. As for references....you may need them from within the county and I don't know if they have a 6month/1year etc. residency requirement. Where do you work? |

Thanks for all your help Just be aware that if you move out of WC (license expires every 5 years) you will likely have to re-apply from scratch in the county you're moving to. |

Nassau has a fee and procedure in place for out of county paperwork transfers, do lifetime counties not accept licenses from downstate? |

Thanks for all your help It all depends on how much DC cares....you need to speak to someone who can gauge how strict their requirements are. I wouldn't necessarily abandon the thought entirely if you have a legitimate residential address there. |
