Hi, Im an NYC resident with a house and some property upstate and wanted to know if it was legal for me to purchase an AR15 upstate and keep it at my property. I was talking with a gun store employee and he said it was perfectly legal but am concerned because my DL has my NYC address. Is this legal if the gun never comes to NYC? I really dont want to get raided or bothered over this. Also - can one NYS resident do a face to face gun deal with another NYS resident with no paperwork? The clerk told me this also but it didnt sound right. Any input is appreciated! thank you in advance

Yes, you can keep a firearm upstate.

Yes, you can do a FTF with another NY resident without any paperwork.

UNPOSSIBLE! Sounds like you encountered a gun store employee who actually knows NY laws!

Normally, they will not sell you anything after they see a NYC drivers license.

The NYPD will have no reason to go after you nor will you need to prove your innocence by obeying the state's stupid laws.

This damn state has us all scared and running from exercising our rights.
You can't even be a legal gun owner here without thinking twice about your legal actions.

Getting fed up here.

Lock that shit up tight, I'm tired of "seasonal residence" burglaries where numerous firearms and expensive electronics are stolen.
