Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it to the WWD shoot this weekend because of prior obligations but I still got to shoot both Saturday and Sunday and the weather was crazy hot. It didn't rain at all so that was a nice treat since the forecast called for rain both days!
Saturday I was fortunate enough to run a 196 out of 200 to tie for first place in my class with another shooter. We went to a shoot off to determine the winner and I was lucky enough to win with a 25 to 24 in the shoot off. For Saturday including the shoot off targets I performed quite well and shot a 98.22% average for the day. This brought my 2011 singles average up to a 95% so another 1% and I'll be AA which will be awesome! I think the high score for the day was a 197 or 198 but my score was good enough to bring home some nice wall decor and the silver adds a nice touch! 
Sunday was even hotter and MUCH more humid. The event was 200 handicap targets. Saturday night I was up until 11pm trying to get my POS Dillon reloader to function (which I couldn't) and I think the lack of sleep didn't help my scores any but I was able to put out a pair of 94s for a 188 which was enough to tie for 2nd place in my yardage group. It resulted in another shoot off Sunday night around 6pm but I hit a wall and dropped 4 targets in the shoot off round and gave that away. In reality I couldn't think of a better way to spend Memorial weekend. |
