New season featuring ARFCOM'S very own Fishpaw.
Oddities
dives into the weird world of
strange and extraordinary science artifacts — everything from
fingernail art to dinosaur poop — through the eyes of the proprietors of
Manhattan's Obscura Antiques & Oddities.

"Shrunken Head"

Premieres Saturday, April 9
A seller stops by Obscura Antiques & Oddities with what he says is
an authentic shrunken head. Mike and Ryan decide to call in an expert to
get the real story. Meanwhile, an orchestral black metal composer is
looking for the darker side of inspiration.  When Evan presents him a
pig head with a little something extra, the buyer knows Evan is singing
his tune. And finally, a local music legend stops in the shop to sell
his beloved Tibetan trumpets made of human femurs.  Mike and Evan must
decide if the high-priced instruments are music to their ears –– or
leave them flat.

"Raising the Dead"
Premieres Saturday, April 16
At Obscura Antiques and Oddities, shop regular Laura Flook stumbles upon
a disturbing, mysterious tonic –– made with actual testicles.
Meanwhile, when a customer can’t part with his beloved "pets," Ryan
accepts a challenge to "rebuild" them from recently unearthed remains.
He hits a serious snag when pieces of the formerly-purring pair are
missing, forcing him to take some artistic liberties that the customer
finds intriguing. Later, when a seller offers to part with what he calls
a mummified human ear, Mike and Evan must call in their expert to find
out if it’s the real deal.
