As expected, AWB II is back under bills A-1479/S-1440. Also the .50 caliber ban is back as S-86 though there is no corresponding A$$embly bill yet. Overall this report reads like an anti-gunners wet dream. I read the text of several of the bills, before I became nauseous, and it is truly stunning the idiocy of the authors. I am sure 99% were drafted by outside groups. |

Quoted: what are you guys thinking about A3268/S1863 (Shall Issue)? oddly enough introduced into senate by a NYC dem... It is an interesting start but it doesn't go far enough. Nassau Country, for example, could still charge $200 + all additional fees every five years. All it does is remove the requirement for "proper cause" but all other requirements such as Westchester's training course would remain. I would prefer to see the NYSP as the licensing authority with a uniform standard, lifetime validity and low fee across the state (I'll yield on letting NYC go its own way - they would regardless). |
