I went over at 7am to vote and was the only person there though I was the 22nd person to vote since 6am so that is pretty good already. Probably the first time in history I did not split the ticket and voted solid "R" with one exception (a local judgeship). I voted for Paladino but I have no illusion we will be hearing a concession speech tonight. At this point I am more interested in seeing if Wilson can get in as Comptroller and Donovan as the AG. I see little difference between Donovan and Schneiderman when it comes to firearms so it may not matter one way or another. |
| Voted at 9am. Glad I didn't go earlier because i was informed the machine broke 5 minutes after opening at 6 and didn't get fixed until 8:50am. These new machines are horrible. I wonder how many people got turned away during that time? Most of the early voters are seniors and I doubt they're gonna come back later. Not to mention the people working the polls were completely clueless in regards to the operation of the new machines. Shameful. |

Quoted: 11:00 EST for wife and I. Don't like new ballots and machines but us old farts never like change. I believe there are a number of different new systems in place in NY so it depends on your county which system they chose. Someone told me my county chose the worst system. I didn't have any problems voting but I read the guide that was sent out by mail so I knew what to expect. The ballot was pretty confusing and it did take me about three times as long as the old mechanical machines. I'm sure many people are going to be really confused and possibly vote for someone they didn't intend to vote for. |

Quoted: Voted and still don't get how people have problems filling out the ballot. The damn thing is set up like a scan-tron it ain't that hard AFAIK there is more than one system being used. Why there is more than one system statewide is beyond me. The paper ballot I used was a little confusing. People with poor eyesight are going to have problems at least with the paper ballot I used. |

I voted this morning but was disappointed by this sign. http://photos.imageevent.com/cas6969/misc/nopie.jpg I stood on every damn line in there but not a one of them had any pies.
"100 Pies" is Spanish for 100 feet. |

The wife and I just got back from voting. The ballots were not easy to read for those with poor eyesite. I could understand that, especially on the lines where they combined parties so you had to read the super small print under a name to know which party they were |

My mother told me she voted at around 2:30pm and she was voter number 199. Number 200 came in as she was leaving. For my area, that turnout is not too good so far. Granted the bulk will probably go in after quitting time but it seems a lot of people did not make an effort to vote early. |

I just voted, well I had a piece of fresh from the oven warm apple crisp before getting back online. Conservative values here!
I also used the scan tron machine with the paper ballot. Not too bad. I still miss the old behomoth machines. Either way the dems will keep frauding along. things seemed pretty tight today, ID's checked, ballot gets a numbered control sticker. I'd like to think there is less shenanigans in this small town. Still remember my mother getting pissed in Albany when she saw my step father's falsified signature for the last two years in the book as coming in and voting when he'd been dead for 3. Obvious forgery, his jagged signature superceded by femine loopy signature. My mom took her pen and wrote deceased across his sign in record and got attacked by a poll worker.

| Done. Used the new ballot machine and it worked fine. I was glad to be familiar with it from the primaries. I'd like to see some sort of confirmation message recapping my selections before the ballot is counted though. At least each ballot is assigned a number that corresponds with a number next to your name in the event a recount is necessary. |

Aren't these things supposed to be anonymous?? I do think they are...

Aren't these things supposed to be anonymous?? I do think they are...I almost got into an argument with some codger working for the board of elections who kept trying to force the stupid sleeve on me. I got away from him the first time, but he tried again after I'd filled it out and was waiting my turn to scan it. I told him "I didn't care who sees it, if anyone wants to know who I voted for I'll be happy to tell them." Then I held the card up for a few people on line so they could read it. "See? See?" |

Well, here's what I saw to the best of my recollection. My name found in a book of registered voters for my District. There was a copy of my signature below my name in the book (makes it easy for me to spot my name, even when the book is upside down As a registered Republican, is there any veil of secrecy which way I'm likely to vote? |

I read there was supposed to be some type of magnifiers available too but I didn't see them either. I guess you had to ask for one if you needed it. I'm sure there will be numerous stories tomorrow about problems with the new system. Voting Machines By County |

Voted early this afternoon for Cuo... wait, no I didn't. Pretty much straight across the Conservative line. My wife voted with me and afterwards we went home and picked up some guns to hit the range. Even had the wife shooting this afternoon. When we returned home my son told us he had gone to vote too. Three more votes for the good guys. |
|
Voted and brought the wife, the MIL, BIL, wife's grandma and my mother. My wife's name was mysteriously not in the book, although we voted together on Presidential election day and she was there. Fraud??? She had to fill out a mail-in ballot.
Other than that, I only regret filling out the Republican column all the way down without realizing I accidentally voted for Lazio for the Supreme Court Judge. Should have voted the Conservative line on that one. Hope we pick up something in this damn State. |

I voted a little before 5pm. Carolyn McCarthy is supposed to be neck in neck with Becker. I hope that dried up old hag finally gets kicked out. I went to see my mother afterward and almost every house in her area had a Becker sign and one was flying a Gadsden. That was nice to see. I didn't like the new system. It was easy enough, but the font was too tiny and I don't like not getting any kind of electronic confirmation. I also didn't like that they didn't ask for ID. I just had to sign my name next to my signature. |

I do think they are...
