Why were dated 30 round preban mags (Okay's) stamped restricted LEO/Military use only, for export? And are they legal here in New York? I did search here and in the mag forum and saw one poster stating they were not legal in several states but found no further info, and I didn't read anything in the stickies addressing this either. What's the story on these please?

It doesn't matter if they are stamped LEO/Military only...as long as they were made before that magic date in september 1994, you are good to go...legal in NY.

I've never heard of a preban mag manufactured on/prior to 09-13-1994 being marked restricted....... It makes no sense and AFAIK the marking requirements weren't even finalized by the ATF until the ban was already in effect.

I'm thinking this is another deal to walk away from.

Sounds like the seller swapped pre-ban floorplates onto post-ban mag bodies so he could sell twice as many "pre-ban" mags.
