| Anyone have some inspirational pictures of their ARs they've assembled in NY they'd like to post ? |

pre-bans are where you find them- look in other states where the distinction is now irrelevent-about 20 years ago I bought 2 real cheap(under $125 for both) essential arms lowers- they have run fine for thousands of rounds but are certainly not what you'd call a first tier lower!
Anyway a couple years ago I see a EA 15 advertised on auction arms (before EA resumed lower production post ban) others must have been scared of the off brand lower- picked up a rifle made with a complete colt 16 m4 upper including a knight's ras system on the EA lower for under 600 bucks. Sold the upper (all colt except for the RAS system) for 600 bucks so my lower was free. it now wears a Noveske upper that I configured in post ban (no muzzle device or threads) that was ordered before I knew I'd be able to pick up a pre ban lower |
| Its a DPMS offering actually, its an extremely hard coating that goes on in a fog called "titanium nitride". I don't think its by any means necessary, and some people have actually complained that it chews up the inside of their uppers as the coating is actually harder than the steel it sits on. I haven't seen any wear at all though, and i only got it because it was pimp. The entire BCG is coated including the firing pin, which have been accused of penetrating primers...but again, I havent had any problems there either. I like it! |
