So...wondering who else from NY is planning on heading to the 2nd Amendment march in DC on April 19.

Also figured this would be a good reminder start planning for those of us who need to (and can) get off of work.

I've got no idea of how big an event this is supposed to be - anyone know?  I'll be there.

April 19th is a bad day
Waco, Oklahoma City among others.
It's a rally day that White Seperatists use. I'd rather not go to a PRO GUN rally on that particular day.
Who are the organizers?

Oh great - that was brilliant on their part.

Don't recognize the names of those organizing - here's the website: http://secondamendmentmarch.com/

ETA: seems they chose the day to coincide with the battles @ Lexington & Concord.  Perhaps not the best idea, given the other negative associations.

I was looking forward to it, but realized I will be on vacation that week with the family.  If you asked me, there are too many activities being planned this year.  Tax Day Protests, 2A March, Million Family March in August (I think that is the one Glenn Beck is talking about).  Look what happened last year....Over a million people marched and it was ignored and suppressed by the media.  It can be expensive to travel to D.C. for this kind of stuff, and last year proved that they, the Progressives, do not care about our principles and values.

But these events can be fun, so I may just pick one in D.C. and maybe one in Albany.

I was thinking about hopping on a train to get down there and coming back that night if possible. I know hotels will be expensive and booked up

Anyone else plan on taking a train down there?

There is definitely a risk with using April 19 as a date. No doubt the talking heads will seize upon the significance of the date. And will also make a connection to Columbine, which was the day after. Tough call. Lexington and Concord were ultimately about the government seizing firearms.

All the more reason to have over a million rational,law-abiding, upstanding citizens down there.
