Dear God,
Please make an indoor, 100 yard, state of the art, range located within 20 miles of my home.

That is all for now

oh yeah, letter inspired by the COMPLETE waste of my time driving to the Nassau indoor range yesterday early afternoon, only to have some guy tell me the range is closed because budget cuts and employees called in sick and county won't pay overtime to get someone else in.

What is this rumor I hear of American Outdoor Sports moving from their current location? Supposedly they are moving to a new location across from a strip club and there might be an indoor range in their plans.

it would give Jose and the ultra helpful counter dorks something to do,
God knows they do not help customers...
Melville store already closed, believe the new Farmingdale location opened.
They always had an archery range, not sure about a new firearms range.
If so, open the wallet and simply empty it out on the counter...

AND get ready to swim in filth and garbage as their store was the most disgusting retail enviroment I have ever been to.

They should spend sometime dusting their shelves and getting rid of the items that they have out since the 60's.

The staff could use the same treatment.  Terrible attitudes all around.

This thread turned into a bash AOS thread. I have no problem with that. But back to the topic if someone were to open an indoor range with a retail store, 100 yards, NICE people, well stocked with reasonable prices in central Long Island, it would be a fucking gold mine.

The Melville (Huntington Range) was great. Granted outdoors - but great.
There was some chatter when the range closed about a Suffolk County Indoor recreation park which would have included shooting sports.

Doubt it'll ever happen.

Oh and BTW, I will not go to AOS either the few times I went there they were less than helpful and expensive too.

My favorite line about AOS came from a friend.
You walk in and they look at you like you spit in their hair...

The last time I went there was when an employee was eating a hero on the counter ignoring customers. When I asked him for help he gave me a dirty look.

Last time I was there was to do a Face To Face buy in their parking lot.

Ha! Me too, never even entered the store.
