Colder than I thought it was going to be. Did not bring a good hat.

Maybe 10 or so cars in the parking lot. Two other black rifle shooters other than me. A friendly dude named Billy with a preban Vulcan 20". And another very knowledgeable and friendly guy named Sonny who showed me one of his build project rifles. Beautiful rifle!

Built on an LRB ARMS lower...Magpul trigger guard, Aimpoint, BUIS, can't remember the rail system but it was really something. 20" inch barrel, I think.
Anyway, Sonny's built two LRB ARMS lowers into serious rifles. He gave me a bit of good advice regarding my FSB....and off we went.

There were a few kids there with their parents... They picked up everyone's brass and took it home for souvenirs. Good. I didn't have to sweep it up.

Did Ed drive you crazy?

Actually... I got my W2 from them last week. I made $750 this year. Wooopie!
(Which means I didn't work much at all last year. In fact I've worked 2 days in the last 7 months).

Is this a good range to go to for a total new Ar15 owner? I'm waiting on Iron sites to come in and will be looking for a range to go and site in. Or is there a better way to get my feet wet with the new gun as far as a place to shoot and receive some coaching or advice?

Yeah, it was cold  out there today!  It was good to meet you too. it's a 16" SS mid length gas (CMMG) , and the FF hand guard is a YHM Lightweight rifle length.
Before you do anything, take it out again and adjust your rear sight(windage) some more - If you can get it sighted in at 50yards, then I would leave it alone. You still have more adjustment left.

as a side note, I also took my new shotgun out today - Mossberg 590A1 18.8" w/ghost ring sights man this thing is sweet , I sent 25   2-3/4" Winchester super x Rifled Hollow point slugs into 4-5" at 50yards. this is the second time shooting it - I did install a "grind-to-fit" limbsaver recoil pad. What a difference.

And gave my Taurus PT1911 a run

Yeah, just get a copy of their rules when you pay/show up. Lots of rules!

I think it's a perfect place to sight in a rifle.
