I am going with a crew of 4 new OBAMA gun owners, (fear has brought them around). Looking to get the NJ legal MSAR if I can find it there. http://www.ar15.com/images/smilies/icon_smile_tongue.gif[/img] Good luck with that. I've already gone thru this with the PA dealers at the show. If your lucky enough to find one with a brake, and all at the last two shows had the tulip flashhidders, no one will sell them to you because the brake won't be welded and pinned on. |

One dealer had one at the last Middletown NY show. Another dealer had SIG556s with plain barrels and A2 stocks. |

Well atleast I am going and am going to try to spend some cash, If not I am sure I can find something to bring home. I have 3 pistol permits coming my way in the next few weeks anyway. H ha ha you sound pretty confident they will be a few weeks.[>:/] My town went from inside a week to months. |
|
I'm sure there far better places to get this answer, but I'd like a general concensus. As a New Jersey Resident with a firearms purchase permit, what else if anything do I need in order to purchase a long gun at the PA gun show this sunday?
If my pistol permits come in, can I buy a pistol at the show? |

If you buy a pistol there it would have to be shipped to a dealer in NJ who will transfer it to you. |

Last time i checked they wont even let NJ people TOUCH or LOOK AT a handgun at the gun shows. They all tell me OH YOU NEED TO COME TO MY SHOP IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A LOOK BULLSHIT, THEN WE CAN SHIP IT TO YOUR FFL. Oh give me a break. I personally have never had that problem. A friend of mine got his first pistol purchase permit awhile back and I took him to the Valley Forge show to look at and handle some handguns and decide which one he likes. No dealers gave us any problems whatsoever. |

Wow, this blows. I'm trying to decide between Cabela's or the gun show for sunday, and it doesn't sound like either have much to offer me. I'm thinking the firearm related accessories will be better at the show though. eh, like everything else it's hit or miss. I went looking for a Blackhawk cheek piece at the last show and found one dealer who had it. He wanted $65 for it.
I went home and ordered it online for $18. |

Ive had some fat old fuck tell me "oh i dont deal with you kinds of people from NJ" when i asked to look at some AK that was clearly NJ legal. Like wtf? Do people not know the industry or buisness well enough to say things like that? Its funny cause like an hour later i walked in front of his table with brand new Arsenal AK and turned around and my buddy saw him like check out what i just bought. Ignorance loses you sales buddy |

Ignorance loses you sales buddy That's funny, I had a very similar encounter at the Harrisburg show last year. I saw a dealer selling Saiga's for $250 and I wanted to buy the two he had left but he wouldn't sell it to me because I was from NJ. About 30 minutes later I walked by his table with a Maadi ARM strung over my shoulder. The dealer who sold me the Maadi turned out to be an arfcommer. Didn't surprise me too much since he clearly knew his stuff about AK's and even about NJ laws. Gave me a good deal too |

i remember that....
that ass hole dealer has the NJ ban list printed out, and had a few things highlighted, like AK TYPE and AR-15... what a fucking stupid ass hole. i never saw that dealer at VF, so maybe he is from out west somewhere. i forgot harrisburg was this weekend, that would have been a good show to go to.. |

Ignorance loses you sales buddy People like this are just ignorant. They'd rather turn away business instead of taking the time to educate themselves about their own livelihood. What a moron. He doesn't realize he's just hurting the industry that keeps food on his table. I wouldn't be the dude that does a under the counter sneak sale of a firearm to a non-resident, but as a dealer you can at least be supportive/some-what informative to customers. At least keep a basic list of what you can sell to non-resies, and the proper forms they'll need. |
| Just got back. Prices were all over the place but nowhere near as bad as the last show in Philadelphia and it also was nowhere near as crowded. Surprisingly I saw more ban compliant AR's than usual. I didn't find anything I was looking for though unfortunately. Hopefully I'll have better luck at the new show at the Philadelphia Expo Center in two weeks. |

my question is, how bad are the roads? and what about ammo? 223/762x39? Im talking cases of 500/1000 if you know Roads weren't too bad. Just rain, no ice or snow. .223 was around $0.38-0.40 a round and 7.62x39 was around $0.22-0.23 a round. I didn't pick up any. |

Expo Center is taking the place of the old Fort Washington shows. They were among the best back in the day with wide isles and excellent lighting. Can't wait for that one. |

no stags, but there was an S&W MP15 ban compliant that was really sharp looking. fewer EBR's then usual, more overpriced AK's then usual, WAY more junk tables (airsoft, earings, other shit) then usual.. basicly it was an unusual show, but worth the drive. i found a 10 round PS90 mag for 40 bucks, which is as best of a price as i can find.
1000/rd wolf 7.62 was $219 1000/rd privi 556 was expensive at $380 the new philly show should be interesting. |

..... He was a fat guy with a beard and he smelled like absolute shit too That could be any number of people at the gun show....There are probably a smaller number of people there who dont fit that description... I'm thinking of setting up a table with pocket-size bottles of spray deodorant and febreeze... getting trapped in an aisle with someone who has a powerful need to shower sometime this month is never a fun time |

It's a really great idea to bring little kids to these, ESPECIALLY if their in strollers, there's plenty of room for a big ass stroller and people don't mind if you just run over their feet!
Also if you can, bring a group of friends, but only if everyone brings their wives/girlfriends, there's never enough people there. If you have a big group, be sure to congregate at the end of the isles, it's just like Starbucks! Possibly the worst show I've ever been to. |

OMFG, ive never seen this many poeple at a fucking show in my life. The obama bug has definitely hit ALOT of people. Ammo was being sold so fast that one of the guys sold me 1000 rounds of 762.39 for the price of 500 because he was moving so fast and probably had no damn clue.
AKs were way over priced. Fucking Romies are up to 599? People were farting left and right. No one takes showers. Junk vendors like jewelry, nazi shit and other crap. There were some cool Class 3 shit but i obviously i couldnt touch shit. Only thing i wanted there was an HK USC that was around 1200, which isnt a bad price tbh. All i know is i sold my Rem 700 bolt and Verona 12ga OU and bought mass ammo. Other than that, what a shitty day compared to the last 20 i went to |

He just said take any of those cases on that cart. I picked that shit up and bounced. 556 was about 147 for 500 which is usually a few bucks more than usual. Some guys up front wanted 185 for 500, heeeelll noooo. |

Wow, that was insane. I don't think I even made it down every isle since some were so packed you couldn't move. The prices were horrible; I didn't see any of this reasonably priced 7.62x39 some of you say you saw. I didn't wind up getting any ammo at all.
WASRs were going for $600-700. Probably the saddest part of the day was when I walked by a table with a few stock (non-converted) Saigas for around $550. As I walked passed I heard the guy behind the table bragging that he had the lowest priced AKs in the whole show.
I was thinking about picking up a stripped lower (didn't really have my hopes up). All I saw in the whole show was one table selling DPMS stripped lowers for $200 and another with S&W stripped lowers for I believe $295! Does anyone have any more info on this Philly show, how many tables, etc.? I'd be interested in going but if it's going to be anything like this show today I'll pass. The one good part of today is I managed to miss all these un-showered people y'all were lucky enough to be crammed next to. |

You fellas about summed it up. High prices, smelly people, lots of unrelated junk.
Still had fun. Gotta have fun no matter what or I don't bother to get out of bed. I beat my 84 year old dad to the black powder guy (had to for his Christmas gifts) and found just what I wanted. Visited Tony the AR15 vendor and he had exactly what I was looking for in my hand before I could finish asking him for it. Got a few mags I needed (wanted) and some ammo, and got the hell out of there before noon. Have I been to better shows? Yes. Have I seen better deals? You bet. Did I still have fun looking at all the stuff and wondering who was a fellow Arfcommer? You bet. Sure there's lots of room for improvement, but I hope to hell we are all here in 10 years complaining about the same old gun shows. Oh yeah, Exp44, if they won't buy deodorant at home they ain't gonna buy it there either. |
