I know the story with regular carry knives but what about when I'm in the woods or hunting/hiking?

May I legally carry (concealed or otherwise) a fixed blade tactical style knife longer than 4"?  I want to buy a nice Smith & Wesson or similar but obviously I'm not going to waste the green if I can't use it.

AFAIK there is no statute regarding blade length in NYS.  NYC is a different story.  Therefor you can go afield with any blade length that you want.

truth. there are no length laws in NY STATE, you can open carry a machete on your back if you so please.
