I have a friend that is moving from Florida to NYC and will want to legally transfer his Glock up there.  I gather he must use a FFL to transfer it and can not just pack it with the rest of his stuff.  Does anyone know a good FFL to use?  I told him to get his target pistol lic first.  Thanks for the help in making sense of this.

He might as well sell the Glock if he is moving to anti-gun NYC.  Hell may freeze over by the time he gets a pistol permit and forget about a carry permit in NYC.  His chances are far better living outside of NYC in the suburbs but he will still have a wait of 6 months plus.

Your friend has to jump through hoops to get a permit....then has to wait a loooooong time to get it, if he gets it.

Good luck to him.

+1 on selling the Glock.

There is a NYC gun faq linked to at the important links at the top of the forum.  Start there.  The short answer is it is going to take 6 months and $460 before  your friend is permitted to have the privilege of moving the Glock to his new home.

I have been thinking about it, how would they know if the mags were pre ban or post ban?  I mean are cops trained to figure that out up there, they sure are not down here.
