I've read the NJ Statutes over and over, all I can find is the 15-round limit when regarding mags.

My friends and I were at the Valley Forge Gun Show and a couple different guys refused to sell my friend a WASR-10 with the reason "You can't own any gun that takes double-stack mags in NJ."

We told him it was bullshit, there's only a 15-round limit no limit on types of mags or guns that can accept a certain type of mag.  One told us that it's a 10-round limit, and 15-rounds only for a .22 and they can't be double-stack.

Does anyone know where this came from? Did they slip in a new restriction to NJ law without notifying anyone but gun dealers?

Simple, the PA. dealers you delt with don't know NJ law. However they have the right to refuse the sale.
