i have a wasr-3 that i bought in october and only recenty able to shoot it, well i am haveing some failure to feed problems. I took it to a local gunsmith who cleaned it completely and checked everything over and he was having the same problem with it. He said he thought that it may be magazines, the mags are very loose. i have read about the good mags and bad mags but still unclear as to how to identify one from the other. i think that i read that the weiger r the best but where do i find and identify them. this is my first rifle of this type so i dont really know what my next move should be. please help

I don't know if it's related or not but...  I just bought a few Romanian mags and THREE out of four were nonfunctional because of the mag followers. I was replacing them anyway with Tapco compliant plastic ones so
it didn't really matter, but it certainly didn't give me a good outlook towards Romanian magazines.

If you are using the converted bakelite(orange mag) they have been known to miss feed. If you are near Niagara county I can look at it for ya. century has also been known to grind too much off the mag catch...cuasing the mag to sit to low. the SAR-3 and WASR 3 is also known for a hammer that does not strike the Bolt/firingpin at the correct angle cuasing damage to the Bolt...this can be fixed with a new FCG made for the WASR3, other than that I love .223 AK's! yes the German wieger mags are the best for this rifle.
