I am going to be traveling thru NY here in a week(Cleveland-Springfield, MA), and was wondering how many tolls there are on INT 90, and the approx cost of them.

Thanks

when you get on the thruway you will get a card. you don't have to stop at any booths until you exit the thruway and IIRC it's like $15 for the distance you will be traveling.

I90 isn't too costly. Like mentioned above I'd be surprised if the tolls totaled more than $15 or so.

So if I get on in Cleveland, get off in Buffalo for the night, then the next day, drive all the way across, I can still use the same card?

Like most tolls, you will pay a portion when you get off to "crash",then get
another card when you get back on the next day.
The total cost should be the same as if you traveled through.

As mentioned, everytime you get on you get a card and then pay for the card when you get off and then when you get back on they'll give you another card. Just don't lose the card or they charge you the max.

Here is what the card looks like.  There is a picture of it on Wikipedia

the 90 has a toll-free section in buffalo, so you'll have to pay when you get there regardless of stopping for a rest.

You pick up a ticket at the Pennsylvania border.  You stop to pay a toll near Buffalo.  There is then a toll free section around Buffalo.  At Exit 50 you pick up another ticket and you can use that ticket all the way till you hit the Mass Turnpike if you don't exit the Thruway.  Total tolls will be about $15 if you are in a car with no trailer.   Keep your speed under 75 and you shouldn't be bothered.  My normal cruising speed is 72 and that seems to work fine.

there's a booth right before buffalo that you'll have to pay at
right around buffalo is free, then leaving buffalo there's a booth right after the 290 where you'd get a new card

I think it's a little under $2.00 for the area from the PA/NY line to the booth just before buffalo
