I know most of the laws about handguns in NJ, but was wondering if this would be "illegal". If i were to buy a handgun in PA and have it shipped to an FFL in NJ and filled out the paperwork for NJ would that be legal, or am i only limited to sales in NJ?

You can buy out of state as long as it's transferred through an FFL in Jersey.

You can purchase a pistol from anyone in the US. Just have it shipped to a  NJ FFL holder of your choice to complete the paperwork.
