The Branson Comp is cheap and looks quite like an A2, however, are its dimensions a no-go? Read that it can accept rifle grenades? If so, are there any cheap modifications that can fix it? I just can't see spending $50 on a KKF or EGW A2 look-a-like when the Branson is $25

The gernade luncher/mount fitting over the brake issue doesn't violate NYS law. The issue is the threaded barrel that you'll need to have to have that brake installed. You have to make sure that the brake is welded on so it can't be removed. From what I've been hearing, even though the bake is welded on the barrel is still threaded so you could have a problem later on but it's very unlikely it will ever become a issue.

AFAIK it can't be 22mm in OD or it will accept a NATO rifle grenade. AFAIK postban brakes are a minimum of 23mm in OD. The permanently attached brake threaded barrel issue is ridiculous but it is what it is. Why tempt fate if you don't have to.

And that is the question, is the Branson Comp 22mm in OD?

It looks like it's 22mm in OD.

Branson Compensator   DPMS Inc.
An A2 look-alike muzzle brake.  This one is intended for use on threaded barrels and can only be used on pre-ban rifles (due to its 22mm external diameter - it qualifies as a grenade launcher).  It has a vent at the 12:00 position so it should do well at controlling muzzle rise - but it will also throw flash up into the line of sight.

yeah, I saw that too, wishful thinking I guess, of course everything has to be more complicated and expensive for us living in the wonderful state of NY
