So now that our new Gov has been sworn in what is the first thing he will try to take out of our Cold Dead Hands..I say 50 cal and anything in that Caliber unless black powder... I am going to fight really hard this year even if it means driving to Albany.... |
| I heard from a friend in Albany that the first thing that Spitzer is after is Independent thought, then our money, Oh wait he would have to go for the guns first because that is the only thing in his way. I'm moving to Ireland, the only place where gun laws have gone in the other direction. |

The NYS Assembly will pass the expanded AWB and .50 caliber ban as well just as a host of other anti-gun bills in 2007 as they did in January 2006. Now is the time to contact NY Senate Majority Leader Bruno and make it clear that you expect the Senate to reject any expansion of the NY Assault Weapon Ban or the proposed .50 Caliber Weapon Ban in the 2007-2008 legislative session as well as any further restrictions on the lawful possession and use of firearms in NYS. NY gun owner's need to make it clear to Bruno that the support of the pro-gun voters in NY was a key factor in maintaining the Republican parties’ control of the Senate. As always a telephone call followed up by a snail mail letter is the preferable way to get your point across. Senator Joseph L. Senator Joseph L. Bruno Room 909 Legislative Office Building Albany, NY 12247 (518) 455-3191 On my speed dial.. Also yes another thread on what to be banned but this year it is more likely it will happen if we do not fight..Would it not be funny if Shoe Strings and paper clips got banned with free thought....Right after your AR's are gone that is |
Here in the PRNJ, if a local prosecutor thought he could get away with it, he would be prosecuting people under the theory of 'Constructive Possession' for simultaneous possession of rubber bands and paper clips while thinking evil thoughts. Bunch of asshats, our .gov |

My cousin is a police officer in the town I live in, here in NJ. He was talking to me once about how the local prosecutor would have people arrested, and firearms confiscated by the police on "good faith," then "find a law and make it fit to a charge," if it had anything do do with firearms. This would happen upon entering a dwelling after a call, and if any firearms were seen at all, including BB and paintball guns. I know this firsthand, because I lost $3500 worth of paintball gear and markers once, because they were in the trunk of my car when the police just happened to pull up to my house on a random call of someone passing by... They said they had seen someone in "camouflage" and were worried (funny thing is I was wearing OD and my friend was wearing a black sweat outfit.) My friend and I were preparing to go to a paintball game later that day, and were loading the car. They threw us on the ground with Glocks held against our heads and confiscated everything I had in my car, then arrested us and charged both of us with "Possession of a Firearm with Intent to Harm Another." Luckily when it was elevated from Municipal to County level, the DA refused to press those charges (I guess because paintball guns aren't legally considered firearms in NJ.) But I never saw my confiscated gear or paintball markers again, and I had to pay a disorderly person's offense fine to the municipal court when they decided to press other charges at a municipal level, because they couldn't make the firearms offenses stick. |
Everytime I drive to Cherry Ridge, which is 30 minutes from my house, I shudder to think what would happen if I got pulled over en route and they searched my car with multiple evil guns, handguns, shotguns and oodles of ammo (all carried legally, BTW). You are FOOKED! |

Not much to say about the Bruno investigation at this point. Bruno is 77 so who knows if he will even want to seek reelction in '08. He says he has not done anything illegal or unethical so we'll just have to wait to see how it plays out. In the mean time the upcoming Spitzer Silver fireworks show should be interesting. The state is in serious financial trouble with a declining tax base. There will likely be a several billion dollar budget deficit this year and the politicians have done everything possible to drive jobs out of this state. The upstate areas of NY have been really hit hard and neither Clinton, Schumer or the rest of the politicians seem to care. Why New Yorker's keep electing these useless Albany/Congress critter's is beyond me. |
