Ammo isnt a bad idea these days but would we really get a significant discount?

The difficulty with ammo is that everyone has to come to me to get it, or the shipping charges will kill off any deal we get.

We did Surefire lights last time so keep that in mind...

Knives is interesting, hadn't thought of that one.

Keep 'em coming guys - let's hear what you want!!

How about kick ass Multi-tool????

Knives sound Good !  Big markup on them - the better to get a Discount !

Easy to ship if we need to redistribute too!

I like these

Multi-tool is a good idea.

I'd go for a lower group buy also.

Would also go for a high quality knife. Kershaw's are awesome. I've got a couple already.

lowers would be cool,
so would ammo, but i dont see any ammo vendors cutting into their margin for a group buy with all the hoarders buying it up anyway.
11/11/2006 6:24:11 PM EDT
[#10]
I'd be in for a multi tool and definatley some lowers before the Dems take them away
11/11/2006 6:31:45 PM EDT
[#11]
Ammo would be great! A multi tool or flashlights would be good as well.
11/11/2006 6:43:04 PM EDT
[#12]
A nice Folder would be good. Something I can carry around day to day.

Quite possible unfortunatly :/
i just figured if about 40 people put in orders for a few thousand rounds, it would definetly get the attention of any major ammo dealer.

if knives, unfortuantly deciding upon a certain kind might get ugly h
food for thought fellas!

The only problem I see with mags is that 99% of us would want prebans and I couldn't imagine too much of a discount on preban mags as they're in limited supply already.

The more I think about it, AR parts sound most appealing: lowers, upper or maybe even barrels.

Lowers would offer the least amount of discussion because they're all pretty much the same.

Barrels have a significant amount of variety but I think the price drop on a group buy might be more significant.

Group Buy......?

Lowers are cheap enough, plus they incur the FFL and NCIS fees and such.

There is all ready a Magazine Group Buy in the works.

How about something like a VLTOR Rifle Length VIS (when they are available) or any VIS Group Buy.

Not sure if starting a Group Buy right before the Holidays is the best thing to do.  Funds tend to be stretched all ready at this time.

I'd be in for some lowers. I bet we could get a discount on both transfer fees and the lowers themselves if we used a centrally located FFL to do the transfers through. My guess is that we could get quite a few...heck, the essential arms receivers are only $72.00 each if you order 10 or more...I bet we could get a fair deal on another brand if we could get enough people interested in them. Rock River would be nice...or even Stag...I've been looking to pick up a few to do a couple more builds anyway so that would work out great for me...

The Kershaw knife idea was a good one too...I have one of their knives and it's really nice!

Anything of size and weight will detract from the savings a group buy can offer due to shipping/distribution issues.  Although, I do like your idea.

As for the pie, my Pie of six years is all the pie I need.

No such such thing as first crack at a hooker, since her uncle did the job when she was 10.

Since FMJunkie mentioned that this GB will not start until after the Holidays, why not wait until 2007 SHOT SHOW when all the MFGs present their new gear.  Why settle for something old when we can have something new?

If the products could get drop shipped that (weight/size) becomes relatively less important.

Lion_Dog, Zbane and I are going to SHOT '07. I'd love to scope stuff out. However, the new gear may not be available for an extended period of time. A second issue is where to get the best deal on the items. I know FMJunkie has a hook for LaRue, surefire, pentagon and other readily available items.

Mike

P.S. I thought pie needed to be 17 in NJ for it to be legal.

So is the ring...........

What about vests/packs/strike plates and such.  I would bet most people have the rifles but do not have the gear to keep them shooting and themselves in the game.

My Pie and I are leaving for Florida on the 5th of Jan. for a month vacation.  We will be attending the SHOT 2007 as well.  PK90, I believe will be there also.  We should really make every attempt to get together.
