Six weeks is way to long for a change of address. Just more NJ bureaucracy in action.

The trail :

Day one: Pick up the change form from the township police office, was instructed to call for appointment.

Day two: Call for appointment, automated machine answer for all applicant to call after a week for finger printing,

Week one: Finally set an appointment for the next  days.

After 3 days: Paperworks done and finger printed, was told the call after two weeks.

After 4 days: Reference persons received their letters

After two weeks: Automated answer machine, left a message.

After a week: Automated answer machine, left a message.

After 10 minutes: redial phone and a detective pick it up. Tell him about me and my call purpose. I Was told that everything is in order and shall received the FID as soon as the chief got a chance to sign it, this still took almost two weeks to get into my mailbox.

Waiting for It is still as exiciting as having your first, just a little shorter though

It makes zero sense to me to go through all the nonsense again just to change your address.
