I'm just the slug helping to put together the class,Bro. Sorry I didn't make that more clear. I'm bringing a sidearm and about 200 rounds of ammo for it. You may email Larry directly and ask him if you would like. http://vickerstactical.com/contact.htm The range is at the Calverton Shooting range. Thanks for your interest. |
Well here's a problem:
Carbine I class requires a Basic Carbine from his or another accredited school:
Now if I am reading this right, then you will have to have been through his Carbine I class. Has anyone been through Carbine I? |

Hi Vinnie. Good point. You do need some sort of acredited class prior to taking Carbine II. It doesn't neccesarily have to be one of Larrys. Military training can suffice as well. This is not a basic carbine class. To all those interested, please PM or email me your military background and/or prior training classes you've attended. Some guys have already done this and all have checked out so far. Thanks for your interest. |

I had an opportunity to train with LAV earlier this year. He is an outstanding instructor and boy can he shoot! I'm interested in the class but will not be able to decide until later this summer. A few questions. What are the legalities in bringing post 94 "assault" rifle, magazines and handguns into NY? Thanks, Mike |
I had the same question, and the NRA state law index didn't look very favorable. It looks like cas has responded...anyone else have anything to add? |

I seem to miss all the Basic Carbine Courses in the area. There have been a few intermediate and advanced courses around lately but no Basic (that I know of.) ETA: It would be great if LAV would do a 2 day Carbine 1 course here prior to the 2 so everyone could be in! I know Tactical Response did exactly that last year and it was a hit. Unfortunately I had to work the whole four days so I missed it! |
+1 Maybe LAV or somebody else would jump on this and help us out. I am sure there is enough interest to get a class together. |
I'm not sure if anyone saw my other post but I'm taking a Basic TAC Carbine Course with FIRE INST in PA on AUG 11-13. I checked with LAV and it meets the requirements for the course in OCT. The class in AUG is Exactly 318 miles from NYC and I will be driving if anyone is interested. The course in AUG is $335, which is a steal. You can check them out in the Training section of this website. I will also be attending the LAV course in OCT here in LI. Riese |

FIRE Good stuff. Several of us from CNY have made the trip 3 times to date. |
SP is on the money. Professional & enjoyable. You wont regret it. You can test your equipent in several ways there... You will see |
So far, so good. Some folks have responded they would like to bring a buddy or too with them, if that happens it will be filled fairly fast. I WOULD NOT miss an opportunity to train with Larry Vickers!! His calender is filling up rapidly and if you snooze you may loose on getting in one of his classes in the near future. |
