Not sure what to think of this, except how very expensive it will be and how much of a PITA all this password/encryption would cause to the firearms enthusiasts.

It's 2am and some crackhead busts into your home. You grab your handgun and are greeted with a audible message, 'Please change your password to activate this firearm.'.

You can patent "Password Protected Condoms," "Password Protected Toilets" or anything else you want!

This does not mean it will go anywhere or ever go into manufacturing!

Although, this guy wants his idea to sell, he will probably try to get it manufactured.

Wait, I have a good idea, how about a "Password Protected Sphincter"?
Diahrea will no longer have easy access to your shorts!

That topped with the "Password Protected Toilets", you will see people exploding in front ot a toilet as they forgot their passwords...

The last line of the article reads:

"The system would undoubtedly cost more than a conventional gun, but many firearm enthusiasts would surely pay a premium for such added security."

Sure they would. I can see them lining up right now to get on board. Especially for the .22 rimfire they show in the article.
