I was totally procrastinating on my homework when I read this, now I'm working double time to finish up by ten .. I'm psyched!

Discovery used to be the best at airing firepower-related tv shows.  But ever since the home-decor / bike-building craze, I think the new champ is the History Channel.

I think this is the METAL STORM episode.  1 million rounds a second or something.  The host is much better than that other show with the guy from the Apprentice.

Well, History spun off something called "The Military Channel" which I think is now the blowing shit up champ.

I watched Future Weapons last night...semi-auto self propelled howitzer...Multiple Launch Rocket System now with guided munitions...cool.

And that is what they're showing the public.  Can you imagine what they have that we don't get to see.

Anyone notice that they didn't show how you reload that metal storm pistol? They kept saying that there are no moving parts and it's just a barrel. I don't know about you guys, but if I shoot 12 rds in a split second at handgun distance that all hit the same hole and I miss, I want a follow up shot (or 12). Maybe I missed it.

That is a good point for any of those Metal Storm weapons.  You are going to go through ammo like water.  Then you have to reload those multiple barrels.

All it is, is basically a muzzle-loader with loads loaded one behind the other, until there's almost no room left in the barrel. Kinda like stuffing a tube full of caseless ammo and smacking the first round in the chain.

I can't imagine those individual rounds as being very powerful, so since anti-personnel is already ruled out (as it's a bitch to reload fast enough and put enough lead downrange to be effective), missile defense and such is also ruled out because it's inherently underpowered/under-ranged.

I see this as a GyroJet concept -- nifty idea but highly impractical in every sense.

The pistol was interesting.  Three bullets on target before the gun recoils.  With no shell casings and electronic ignition, the bullet is literally a mini rocket.  Cool!

You replace the whole barrel...They come pre loaded,,,2 or 3 yrs ago I put the site on here that made this thing...At that time I was told will never happen....Well I should have bought stock in that company
