My choice would be the Arsenal USA SAM 7 if you like the milled receiver. However there is nothing wrong with a SAR if you put a little work into them. They work fine right out of the box but are lacking in aesthetics IMHO.
If you are a fan of the stamped receiver and want something a bit heaver, then the Vepr is the way to go although they don't look like the traditional AK.

Builds from kits are another way to go if your willing to spend the money.

had an SAR1 and 2 but didn't like them. I liked my MAK and SLR 95 better.

Im also looking for a little more accuracy so maybe the VEPR would be better

I was looking into the AK's myself too and highly valued LUGERMAN's opinion and knowledge.
However I decided against buying an AK for a Garand, but I was leaning towards the VEPR myself. They are built of quality materials and workmanship and are quite accurate. Just my $.02 though.
