With bow season beginning only 15 or so hours away in western NY I just wanted to wish everyone good luck and remind everyone to stay safe.

I hope everyone gets a Bullwinkle this year.

I live for this!

Hope your gear is waterproof.

My hunting clothes are washing as I type...

The way this past week has been, I'm more likely to have one of these hanging in my barn tomorrow night.

I tried something new this year. I had a old timer tell me to wash my clothes in apple juice so you smell sweet. I washed them this morning. I'll let you know how it works.

I have no problem with cutting an apple and wiping it on my outer clothes. I always snack on apples during archery season. I also use scentblocker on my rubber boots. It works.

A bad opening day. Too windy and too warm.

I did see 3 doe though.

Tried this morning and saw nothing, again too windy and rainy.

I'll back out tomorrow morning.

I saw turkeys, a fox, and 4 deer on Saturday. I had a doe and button buck at 4 yards below my stand in the AM. I just enjoyed watching her and let her walk. Next easy shot is backstraps. She was all over my tracks leading to my stand. Dedicated rubber hunting boots and scent-away works.

Didn't hunt today. Too rainy and windy.

This morning produced a 6 point buck within 40yds. (I let him pass for something bigger) and a small doe.

I got out around 6:30am and within 2-3 min. of getting set up a coy dog came within 25yds of my stand in a corn row. I drew back on him and he suddenly stopped (bad shooting lane for me) and looked around and reversed direction and took off. He made my scent I think.

After removing a tresspasser who was set up within 30 yds of my clearly visible hang-on stand yesterday afternoon , I had a spike buck come out from my east. He actually came right up to my tree and sniffed my tree-steps. I was expecting him to flip out when the lightbulb clicked on, but he was unalarmed. I thought about pulling a "Tarzan/Ed Sr" on him, but let him walk

Had a doe and a fawn at 25+ yards shortly after, but I like those close shots

I'm batting 1000 so far on seeing deer, with 2/3 hunts with deer in good shooting range.

Tis the season. I was out again tonight and it was the first night I didn't see anything.

If the weather stays this warm the rut won't start until December

The rut is in full swing here
I have 5 of them within about 100 yards of each other.
My stepson missed a doe his first time out, hopefully he'll get one before gun opens south.

Well I took a good sized doe yesterday, freezer meat.

I have yet to see a good buck at all (besides a 6 pointer) and have seen a dozen does. In fact the doe I shot yesterday was #7 in a line of 8 that went under my stand, no bucks in tow though.

I almost hit a nice 6 pointer on my way home last night though.

Did my first bowhunt this weekend in zone 4S. Saw nothing. My brother has motion camera on trees all over his property. Lots of 6-8 point bucks in the pics but none to the human eye so far.
