I just wanted to wish everyone a happy and relaxing long weekend! I also wanted to take a moment to think about all of our friends, family and fellow ARFCOMmers who are deployed around the world right now. I realize this is a little different than what Memorial Day is meant to commemorate but I think its appropriate given the times. Why don't we all post the first name or screen name of someone we know who is currently in harm's way? Kind of like our Memorial Day thread just to show we are thinking about them? I'll start: Hoplite Just know that my family is thinking about you and your team. Stay safe! |
I do not know of anyone personally serving in harm's way at the moment, Hoplite is the closest since many of us have contributed to his Care package , however, I do wonder about what they're going thru on a daily basis. No doubt all are homesick. We are indeed in a time of WAR, and I do think about our Troops EVERYDAY, Past and Present.

I too don't know anyone personally, however I'd like to let each and every serviceman and woman, that my family supports you and has you in our thoughts. I especially keep my grandfather(they bombed Peal Harbor on his Birthday  ) in my thoughts this weekend, who served our country, fighting on all those little islands in the Pacific during WWII.  I miss you  |
