I don't know it there are carp to shoot up there. If you'll ask around, most every town up here has a "sportsmans club" most all of them have Trap fields (Northern Tier Trap League) is very big in these parts. If you half too join or buy a membership to use the facilities it's usually only $5.00 for the year. The local speciality is Chrogan Bologna, and it's really good! The Menonites have there shops with foods and crafts. Nearby is the newly opened Adirondac International Speedway, reasionable admission...great racing. Oh, and there are also several gun shops in/around the surrounding area. Not too much on black rifles.
I've lived here since '87 but never spent a lot of time up in that neck of the woods, but it's worth the trip. If you like, send me an e-mail and I'll do my best to fill you in on the local.
