the SAFS is the NRA small arms firing school. you need to attend this before yuo can shoot in the highpower league.  THey teach you the basics of high power shooting and i believe there is a match on day 2.
the first one is at camp smith which is in peekskill next weekend 12 and 13th.  you have to register ASAP to go as i dont think walk ins are allowed.
the one after it is at the peconic river sportsmans club in manorville (long island) thats the first weekend of MAy.
im not sure the cost but it should be fun

Sounds like just what I am looking for!  I have only put a few hundred rounds through my new Bushmaster so far.  But, April 12 is my wifes birthday, and May 1-5, we will be in Buffalo.
Damn!
If anyone knows of another SAFS coming up, let me know.  Preferably in Peconic, because I am only a 40 Min. drive from there.  How often are these classes?

Thanks,
