Alright, so I grew up in a house of no hunters.  They weren't opposed to it, just never did it.  I, on the other hand, am an avid gun lover, and am looking to get in to hunting.  I really want to take a Turkey this November, but I'm not sure of where to start.  I have passed the hunter's safety course, but haven't purchased a hunting license, since I'm at a loss as to where to go from there.  Do people go to public lands?  Or do you go to leases?  Anyone out there want to show me what I need to know to get going?  I'm around New Braunfels.

I would look for a lease in your area for deer and turkey hunting. They are probable hard to come by but so is public land in your area.

Need to check regulations for your and surrounding counties where you may end up hunting. Around here, we have turkey's. Use to listen to the morons warble their heads off when I still went deer "hunting". But, can't shoot them as the season stays closed in our county. I think one or two counties near by are open during Spring.
