Did anybody's tomatoes do well this year? Mine did squat. The hybrids died within a month. The romas had one round of tomatos in early June, and then died. Several neighbors, our vet, and several others acquaintances had similar problems. I use the same spot, method, fertilizer, and watered just like every other year for the last 10+ years. Our hanging potted plants died as well. The roses did well, so did the perennial plants.

| Yes, my tomatoes did very well, hardly even watered them. Started from seed Super Bowl weekend and planted a bit late, Easter Weekend, right around March 26th I think. Heavy yields from all varieties including heirlooms like Cherokee Purple. Grew them organically without man made chemicals or pesticides. Had some squirrel problems with them taking the best ones in late June. Could not get the bb gun up to speed to dispatch them. Had a leak in the pump mechanism somewhere that kept the fps down. |
| Cherry tomatoes gave us a couple. Whole plant got tons of flowers on it and even watering daily she withered away in about a week. Damn rabbits ate the broccoli right down to the dirt and the peppers were eaten or would die off before ripening. Tough year for us but it's just a small backyard garden. |

Next year, I have my eye on an elevated garden box for tomatoes. 4 good plants keep us in tomatoes all season if they do well. Squirrels have been a problem. They plant as much as we do. They will walk right up to the door with the dogs going nuts inches away. |

The wife's Okra and Cucumbers were spectacular this year, still producing, Israeli Melons are huge and just about to ripen. The Tomatoes however, disappointing to put it mildly.
Sweet potatoes look promising, peppers are slow and then sting bean crop was very decent. . |
