My wife's Lexus rx 300 has a list of problems. Check engine light on as well as various other lights. We've taken her car to a local mechanic before and he didn't help. Recently when we took it to get the oil change the technician said he thought it was leaking oil.

Any local places around DFW (north of dfw airport area) that yall would recommend to check out?

Christian Brothers Automotive.

Not the cheapest but they do good work and warranty their work.

Christian Bros shops all have quite a collection of factory scan tools. They should have a Tech Stream for your Lexus. If not find a shop that specializes in Toyota's.
In the Austin area I recommend Grand Imports, only Honda/Acura & Toyota/Lexus

But your local guy can't diag the CEL and "thinks" it's leaking oil

I'd vote Dealer or CBAC

Probably the most common check engine light we see on those is 440/442/446 evap codes and, given the age, catalyst codes.

If you've never had them done, it HAS leaking valve covers. Done a lot of cam/crank seals on those too. Occasionally a rear main seal.

If you paid your guy to fix the CEL and he has not, or cannot determine the cause, drop him. Just saying.

eta: I'm on the other side of town, but feel free to shoot me a PM if you think you're getting hosed or they can't figure it out. I can go over it with you if you like.

Take it to the dealer, it will be expensive but it will be fixed correctly when you get it.
