Quoted: Though I do support his politics, the media and the Dems will tear him apart! The ONLY way to have a conservative congress and a conservative president will be a moderate candidate that will appeal to those in the middle. Let's try to put a real Conservative up for prez and let the chips fall where they may??? Might get different results! Ted has till the primary to LOSE my vote!! |

Agree totally, the media will go after anyone not meeting there agenda, but Cruz will be easier due to his strong Tea Party connection. They will find every pic of costumed characters at Tea Party rallys and associate them with Cruz, portraying him to the middle as a nut job. |
| According to a Gallop Poll in 2013, and yes, polls can be skewed easily, Liberals, 23%, Conservative, 34%, Middle, 38%. Not everyone votes, but anyone portrayed as too radical brings out the vote against. Additionally, the electoral college that actually elects the president is heavily skewed to East Coast/West Coast, so, a candidate must take states that may be less conservative to win. You have to appeal to the middle or you lose. |

We have tried that in the last two presidential elections and failed miserably. The media hates every conservative, period. They also, along with lots of republicans, hated Reagan but he managed to win. |

I hope Ted Cruz is really in this to be a stalking horse for Rand Paul.
Ideally have Cruz out there blasting the fuck out of Jeb Bush/Chris Christie and the like while Rand comes across being more likeable and presidential then Cruz drops out and endorses Rand. Then if Rand wins the White House he nominates Ted Cruz to the Supreme Court (I'm sure some of his fellow senators would vote yes just to get him out of there) and then Greg Abbot selects the replacement for Ted Cruz in the Seante. |

The problem is that our nominating system of primaries starting in insignificant states ass fucks the chances of a real conservative being nominated. We don't get a vote in a red state until South Carolina, and by that time the Republican voters start jumping to whoever has the most momentum. ![]() |

I hate to say this. I am Hispanic. I know a lot of Hispanics will vote for Cruz just because he his Hispanic. Just as many voted for Obama because of race.
Cruz may open the eyes of many minorities to liberty and freedom like never before. I keep seeing some people on pro freedom sites saying that they don't like Ted Cruz because of small things like where his wife works and that his dad worked for Fidel Castro. I don't know on the specifics, but does anyone know what they are? |

I don't know on the specifics, but does anyone know what they are? I'm Anglo, and as far as I am concerned Hispanics voting for Ted Cruz because he is Hispanic is fine by me. Of course, there will be a huge racist push on the left to label him as phony Latin, like an Oreo, brown on the outside but white on the inside. He won't be considered to be a true Latin because he doesn't have a mustache or support amnesty. They'll drag out Edward James Almos and Danny Trejo to convince Hispanics that he's not one of you because he opposes open borders and Obamacare. The racism from the left would be intense, so no, I don't care if Hispanics vote for him because he's Hispanic. Any Republican candidate will need a certain number of white morons, Hispanic morons and black morons to vote for the right guy for the wrong reasons. If America didn't have a surplus of morons the someone like Ted Cruz would win every time. But we do have a surplus of morons so guys like Bill Clinton and Barack Obama win. |

Something else that has really gotten me irritated in the last 24 hours. All my buddies who defiantly agree with Cruz saying he doesn't have a snowballs chance. Listen up people, if you agree with him vote for him. Let him do the rest, you may be surprised at the result you get if you don't lay down and die before the fight begins. I am gonna do something I have never done, I am going to actually give money to a presidential campaign. Teddy is gonna need all he can get. I will also get a sticker and a yard sign. Whatever else I can do. Ted did this exact same thing in the Senate race. People had barely heard of him and he made a push to talk in front of crowds down the home stretch, and he overcame great odds because the guy can speak, relate, and stands for something. And now he has a voting record that proves he will do the right thing when the big money is paying to do something different. Until somebody comes up with some smoking gun dirt that I just can't overlook Cruz has my support, because he backed up what he has said he will do. |

Quoted: Not pointed at you Joshv06....But questions like these are from people who have not taken the time to look at Cruz's short body of work in the senate. While he could have easily preached his mantra in the public eye, he could have still voted with establishment on procedural votes that are rarely brought up or noticed. Ted Cruz has stood his ground the entire time he has been in the senate. He never wavered from the stance he takes publicly. This is why establishment republicans dislike him. People that worry about who is FATHER worked for are grasping at straws. He said all that needed to be said about his father yesterday. His father packed up and left him. Ran out on he and his mom. Then his father had a life changing conversion. AND MOREOVER HIS FATHER ISNT RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT. Ted Cruz has been more consistent to his campaign promises, than most any other politician, short of maybe Obummer promising to fundamentally changing America---he did you know? I don't know on the specifics, but does anyone know what they are? Cruz, Sr. is about as patriotic an American as is possible...and he raised his son that way. As to Ted, the Libtards are trying to demonize him and the GOP is trying to demonize him. They both know he's out of their league, can whip anyone in a debate, negates both party's preferred candidates...and can whip the conservative voters into a frenzy. Send him some dough! |

The media has done it's job very well. They have already convinced many that a true conservative can't win and they are just getting started. The midterms were not that long ago, a message was sent. Just because the current administration and media chose to ignore the message does not mean it won't be louder next time around. It will be a tough road but I refuse to believe there are not millions out there ready for someone with morales and values to lead this country back from the edge of the abyss. |

Though I do support his politics, the media and the Dems will tear him apart! The ONLY way to have a conservative congress and a conservative president will be a moderate candidate that will appeal to those in the middle. By that logic you cannot have a conservative president period, Due to the fact you would have to surrender your values to a person that rides the middle. I think even if I fail, we need to make a stand behind true candidates that will work for us and not just use us. |

It may not be very far off. What bugs me is that the primaries start in Iowa and New Hampshire. These aren't bastions of conservatism, so guys who are middle right win these primaries over guys who are hard right. And once a candidate starts winning primaries the voters and donors in other states start betting on the winning horse. By the time we get to a red state, like South Carolina the conservative candidates are all 5 or 6 in the pack and no one is behind them any more. |

I do not know one bad thing about CRUZ.
He is one of the best conservative Republicans out there and I think he would be a great president. Just like after the peanut farmer we will need a great president to set things RIGHT. I think Ted could be that man or might be a good working vice president to Rand Paul or even better Cruz/ Paul for the win. |
