Lately I've been shooting at the frisco club, but shooting just paper has gotten old very quickly. (Not to mention expensive)

There seem to be a plethora of indoor ranges, all of which have rather restrictive rules.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of a range that is outdoors that has steel, etc?

Thanks!

Dallas Pistol Club in Carrollton - its a private range but usually has competitions 3 weekends every month that are open to everybody. It's limited to pistols, rimfire rifles (and shotguns only during competitions, but they hold a few of those, too).

I think there is a waiting list to join

Check out the Haltom City Rifle & Pistol club.  They have a couple restrictive rules, but it's to keep the range where it is

Couple dedicated pistol lanes
Falling plates
Lanes at 50/100/200yds (steel gongs at each distance, last time I was there anyway)

Private club, so there's an initial fee, plus yearly membership.  Reasonable price though assuming you go on a regular basis.

They hold matches there on a regular basis, check out their calendar, could always show up for one to play and check out the range.

This range is vastly improved since the first time I visited. It is one of the only 500 yard ranges in the DFW area. Very relaxed atmosphere and Terry (SP)  is a very laid back individual. It will cost you $20 each time you go unless you wish to qualify for one of the discount programs. I go at least once a month and shoot my AR and my M1 Garand.

I am also a member of the Dallas Pistol Club and there is a long waiting list to get into this club, it took me several years to get in. They are a limited number of members club.
