I am going to vote against Cornyn in the upcoming primary. Who is the best candidate to take his place? Whichever other candidate has the most momentum and has raised the most money. At this point that looks like Rep. Steve Stockman. Realistically probably none of the challengers have a snowball's chance in hades of beating Cornyn (I'd be surprised if any more than barely break into the 2 digits), so any votes against him in the primary are mainly just a protest to tell him that maybe he needs to re-assess where he is politically a little bit before the general election... However, basically everyone who voted against him in the primary is just going to end up voting for him in the general election. No protest is worth risking electing a Dumbocrat. While at this point he looks like a longshot, the presumptive Dem. challenger David Alameel spent millions of his own money trying to get elected to congress in 2012 even though he lost. Deep pockets make him at least a little dangerous if Cornyn has any weakness or runs into issues closer to the election. |

I'm voting for Dwayne Stovall, but all that really matters is that atleast 50% of the people vote against Cornyn so we can get a runoff in the primary. My wife and I are voting for Stovall as well. My wife is actually a volunteer on his campaign. I highly recommend doing a little research on him he is a great guy and will put Texas first. He truly does have a good chance at beating cornhole. I wouldn't put much faith in Stockman there's a lot of skeletons in his closet. |
I was turned off of Stockman when I read the DMN voter guide that the candidates answer questions to. Almost every one of his answers railed against Cornyn in some fashion. I understand when they ask you questions like 'Why should I choose you over your opponent,' but otherwise thats a typical slimy politician re-direct tactic. ![]() I'm not sure who I'm going to vote for in the primary yet. |
| If anyone is unsure about Stovall y'all should check out www.texansforstovall.com I think I hot linked that wrong but y'all get the idea. |

Does Stovall have any momentum outside of Southeast Texas? For that matter, does Stockman? From what I've read, polling says that Cornyn will roll to an easy win in the primary and then easily win the general election. That is of course no reason to be complacent for anyone. |

Stovall's response to US issues
The depth in which he goes to answer these questions and issues is amazing. And how do we get Ted Cruz to endorse him? Could you imagine if we had both Cruz and Stovall representing us in Washington? |

Does Stovall have any momentum outside of Southeast Texas? For that matter, does Stockman? He has a good amount of support up here in north east TX. We went to a tea party event in Longview and actually met him, very nice guy. He is personally going to events and speaking all over the state and gaining more of a following everywhere he goes. Its up to like minded people like us to spread the word. He has volunteers in every area if you need a yard sign or bumper sticker they should be easily had. for that matter if you are in north east TX pm me and my wife and I would be happy to meet up with you and hook you up with a yard sign. |

Stovall is from my area and I heard him speak a couple of years ago at a local tea party meeting. I certainly liked what I heard. I am absolutely voting against Cornyn, I just want to vote for the guy with the best chance to win. I wish we could ex communicate Karl Rove from the State of Texas. He is a filthy stain on this great state. |

I must have not been paying attention. At the risk of causing a flame war, I'll ask. What vote did Cornyn take, or position, that has caused your wrath. DanM (honestly clueless on this topic) straw that broke the camels back for my wife and was when he voted to end cloture on obamacare. |

Fuck GWB to for that bs. On a positive note, I drove from Houston to Sealy, then to Corpus Christi and saw several Stovall signs along the way. Maybe Cornyn and his merry band of idiots will beat up on Stockman and let Stovall come in and secure a runoff. |

FYI, if you know anyone voting for Stockman try to educate them about Stovall because Stockman seems a bit shady.

| No way, no how will Cornhole get my vote. Sick of traitors lying through their teeth around election time. Sick of his BS ads also. Last one I heard was "you have guns, I have guns". Seriously that's the best you can come up with? This moron has illusions of him riding in on his white steed. I have yet to hear of anyone that's willing to vote for Cornhole. |
