| I have a female friend in Houston that would like to purchase a handgun. Any suggestions on where she should shop? Any have ranges that rent guns? |

Tomball Pawn, if price is important.
Tactical Firearms in Katy has a large selection of rentals, if a demo is important. There prices can also be quite good at times. Academy generally has reasonable prices on what they happen to have. Collectors, Fountain, & the new place on I-10 at Dairy-Ashford...well, just try to interpret the sensation as pleasurable..... |

I like Collector's Firearms. They have the best selection and get a lot of trades. Knowledgeable staff, too. Carter's country is hit and miss. It depends on which store and which staff member you end up seeing. Tactical Firearms is not near the top of my list after the Piers Morgan visit and the owner's support for banning ammo sales online. If you don't support the folks looking out for your rights, then you just don't care enough about your rights. Other than that, if you want a cheap deal, hit up Academy but don't expect knowledgeable staff or service. The last academy I went to, the guy behind the counter swore his uncle "Got a class 3 license, but doesn't sell guns, and he can build full auto. All he needs is a safe and a couple of other things."

Bunch of guys here can vouch for me. American Shooting Center one Saturday morning I'll bring a few pistols for her to shoot and go over the basics. If she's worried I'll bring my wife or one of my daughters along as well. I have a few handguns, can barrow a few others that she thinks she might like. Free .22lr to get into shooting. I'd ask she helps cover any other ammo and let me know if she's got ears and eyes. PM Me if you want to take me up on this offer.
