| We are relocating to the rosharon area. Looking for suggestions on locations. Job is in rosharon and would like to keep to a 30 minute commute if possible. Looking for good schools first and foremost. Thanks in advance. |
| closest one would be at PSC... and they hold maybe 2-3 a year unfortunately. Everything else look to travel at least 2 hours to Impact zone, and 3-4 to Cawthorne. Rosharon is not too bad, was ABZ gang territory when I was in High school in 01 though, unsure what if anything has changed. |

Define, Rosharon.
Technically I'm in Iowa Colony but Rosharon was used so much back in the day that it has stuck -- I'd put Rosharon proper at FM1462 and FM521 area. I live roughly six minutes from there. Little Cambodia (thank god my parents never moved us there) also uses Rosharon on their addresses. My buddy lives in Sterling Lakes right off of SH288 and CR56 and he likes it, quiet neighborhood. I live two minutes south from him. Kids around me go to Alvin ISD schools which aren't too bad. |

As mentioned above, there are nice places NEAR Rosharon, but you'll be hard-pressed to stay within your max... I live +/- ten miles away from your new employer, drive by every day, and it's 20 minutes away.

I used to work over at the Darrington Prison unit, in the regional office. I'm now retired. There are some nice area's around Angleton, Lake Jackson, Alvin, Pearland. I live in the North side of Santa Fe. We love it down here. My wife works in the school system. It's not the best school system. But, we typically don't have trouble with gangs, or too much drug activity. The SFISD has it's own police force, which is pretty nice. The officers do a decent job. Land and houses are still fairly reasonable down this way. My commute to work at Darrington typically took around 40mins each day. It wasn't bad. I took fm1462 up from Alvin to get there.
Another area you might look at is Manvel. They have a very nice high school that was built a couple of years ago, right on hwy 6. To the north you have Sugarland and the suburbs around there. Higher class houses, and much more expensive. Like I said, I love living in the little town of Santa Fe, population only about 12,000. |
