Has anyone used the composite lower receivers? I have no experience with them and was looking for opinions and thoughts of them compared to the traditional forged aluminum ones. My son is looking to buy his first AR and our local gun store has this one local. It is a Bushmaster flattop with the carbon lower. Any help in this would be of great appreciation.

You will obviously hear answers both ways.
I have a New Frontier Armory complete lower that I've had since August. It has worked just fine with 250 rds through it. I have another on the way that I decided to grab while I still could get any lower. It's going to sit around for a bit till I have a bit more money and I can actually find a complete upper for it. |

Not worth more than 100 period end of story... Don and wait either way it's way to high righ now. Wait if crap hits the fan you wasted money if crap doesn't hit the fan they will drop like flys. I think the $1600 was referring to a full rifle, not just the lower. I wouldn't pay that much for that rifle but I would need more details. |

Don't the Carbon uppers have a reputation of breaking off and dropping the barrel on the ground? I seem to remember about a female police officer that bought one and it broke during a training class or qualification. mm I remember that story as well. Somebody posted pics here. |
